Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a serious issue concerning the breach of trust by Air India Express and its third-party ticket booking partner, MakeMyTrip (MMT), which has adversely affected millions of passengers, including myself.
I had booked a ticket with Air India Express for travel on 19th March 2026 (PNR: F3I65P) through MakeMyTrip. Along with the ticket, I paid an additional amount for the “Date Change Option,” which is supposed to allow date changes up to 2 hours before departure. Relying on this assurance, I adjusted my personal and professional commitments accordingly.
However, when I attempted to change my flight date to 21st March via MakeMyTrip, the option did not appear in their system, even though direct booking on the airline’s website showed availability for that date. On 19th March at 11:26 AM, I escalated the matter to MakeMyTrip customer care. Despite lengthy interactions and assurances from a senior representative, no solution was provided.
I also contacted Air India Express customer care, but they were unable or unwilling to resolve the issue. This experience highlights a systemic failure and misuse of trust, where passengers pay extra fees (₹425/- per person) for a date change option that is either not honored or fraudulently withheld by third-party platforms like MakeMyTrip.
Given that millions rely on this service and only a small percentage (approximately 2%) actually use the date change option, it is unacceptable that this facility is not being fulfilled, effectively constituting consumer fraud.
At this point, I am not seeking only for a refund. Instead, I earnestly request the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airport Authority of India to investigate this malpractice thoroughly and blacklist fraudulent third-party booking platforms such as MakeMyTrip that fail to honor their commitments and misuse public trust.I really harassed by MMT Customer care with multiple calls without any resolution,
If no corrective measures are taken promptly, I intend to initiate legal proceedings against both MakeMyTrip and Air India Express for consumer rights violations and breach of contract.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt intervention to safeguard millions of air travelers from such deceptive practices.
