I have booked two tickets for December 6, 2025 from Mumbai (India) to Paris (France) in Ethihad Airways through MakeMyTrip platform.
I have booked these ticket for Economy Class. When i received ticket, i was surprised to know that it included Check in Baggage as "0" kg. Having traveled to so many countries, this was the first experience that something like this exist.
I spoke to customer care of both Etihad Airways and MakeMyTrip with no 'right' resolution. Both teams gave me two options:
1. Book new reservation - which is resulting in 100% cancellation charges for my ticket with Zero refund! That too before 18 days to flight, costing 1 Lac INR!
2. Add Baggage to trip at a cost of around Euro 100 for 5 KG, making it around INR 1.3 lacs (1.3X ticket price) for 60 KG (usual for 2 people traveling to Paris in Winter December). Economics makes NO SENSE!
I checked with both customer care teams to know they have no authority to help, even if none the solution makes sense (they also agreed)!
Can't you simply Upgrade us to your 'Value' or 'Premium Package' and ask us to pay difference? How simple it is! why dont it exist?
I seek immediate assistance from your team in resolving this issue, and help me sail through it.
Looks like a scam. Either Lose ticket or pay 5x, a choice that does not makes sense! I am sure, i would not be only one to come across this problem
