Again same cooling system problem faced, I called LG customer care on 6th Sep 2025
From over the call they advised me for AMC and I requested last service call not even one month period completed, they said it’s free only sir if any spares has to change they will take care sir, then I went for AMC copy attached 6th sep 2025 to 5th sep 2026 but on that day my service call not booked. 8th sep 2025 morning I call to LG customer care book service call again last visited person came for service and said that sensor problem spare have to change, on next day(9th sep 2025) some agent called said that sensor price 4200/- no service changes, I asked already went for AMC why should I pay they said your not paid with us for AMC you may Booked through call centre ask them.

I called LG customer care regarding this issue they asked some time to give service for next two days which I book my old service call they closed without my permission messages are given

They closed my service call without my knowledge

Morning I called to LG customer care asked them for service they with today evening problem will be resolved but till evening no calls received, again I call LG customer care they asking what the issue sir again I explain fully they asked me for 30mints time to get call from supervisor I waited two hrs again I called to LG customer care again they asked for what the issue sir, I asked them to see my previous calls on your records, they said it’s not possible
LG customer care not following customer request details on records I called 12 sep 2025 morning 9:54am first call, second call at 3:30pm asked for 30mints time to call back, 3rd call at 4:32pm they are saying AMC will effective after 100days
I requested for cancellation my AMC application they said it’s not possible

We are facing problem last one week without fridge, I don’t know how to get back this issue, I request to cancel my AMC I will get service from local service people with company support

We understand that the LG Electronics has not responded service requests properly, despite you having all the necessary supporting documents like bill and warranty card.

In such a situation, we suggest that you proceed by sending a legal notice to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the LG Electronics, formally requesting a resolution of your issue and repair the Double door fridge as early as possible. Kindly allow them a 15-day period to respond to the notice.

If you do not receive any response within this timeframe, please revert to us. We will then guide you through the process of filing a case in the Consumer Forum.

2. Briefly stated, the case of the complainant is that the complainant was intending to purchase Refrigerator of L.G. Company for domestic use and for this purpose, he approached the opposite party No.2. The opposite party No.2 ie. Nitin Traders is the Authorized Dealer of the opposite party No.1. It is further pleaded that on dated 08.01.2023, the complainant went to the shop of opposite party No.2 and purchased the Refrigerator manufactured by the opposite party No.1 having Model No. GC-X257CQES for the consideration amount of Rs.1,70,000/- and had made the payment of amount of Rs.1,70,000/- in cash on the same day to the opposite party No.2.

The opposite party No.2 has issued an Invoice No.B-1147/22-23 dated 08.01.2023 clearly providing all the details of the Refrigerator purchased by the complainant. It is further pleaded that as the above referred refrigerator was purchased by the complainant from the opposite party No.2 at Gurdaspur and the same is manufactured by the opposite party No.1, the complainant is consumer of the opposite parties. He has purchased the goods i.e. Refrigerator from the opposite parties after paying the consideration amount for the same. It is further pleaded that after the receiving of the product, the complainant started to use the same for his personal use, but in the last week of December, 2023 the complainant found that there is some technical issue / mechanical issue / manufacturer defect in the Refrigerator and it was not working properly.

The complainant immediately thereafter contacted the opposite parties and requested to resolve the issue, so that the complainant can use the refrigerator properly. The opposite party No.2 assured the complainant that they will sent a mechanic to resolve the issue. It is pertinent to mention here that till date the technical / mechanical defect of the refrigerator above mentioned has not been resolved. It is further pleaded that the complainant informed the opposite party No.l regarding the issue by calling on their customer helpline number.

When the opposite parties didn't response to requests of the complainant to repair the refrigerator, he got served the Legal Notice dated 27.06.2024 on the opposite parties asking them to replace the refrigerator within the 15 days of receipt of the legal notice, but the opposite parties paid no heed to the request of the complainant. On the other hand, the opposite party No.1 vide letter dated 01.07.2024 asked the complainant to give consent for the repair of the refrigerator free of cost and complainant vide his reply dated 22.07.2024 to said letter, again request the opposite party No.1 to replace the refrigerator, but all in vain.

It is further pleaded that apart from this, the complainant is not getting the proper benefit of the appliance / product which he has purchased after spending a huge amount from his pocket. He ran from pillar to post in order to redress his grievances, but the opposite parties had not able to redress / solve his grievances and due to such unfair trade practice on the part of the opposite parties, the complainant is suffering from monetary loss and great physical as well as mental harassment. The opposite parties had failed to act on their part.

Such acts of the opposite parties are clear cut deficiency in service on their part. It is further pleaded that the complainant suffered mental agony and loss due to the act and conduct of the opposite parties. The complainant is legally entitled to get replaced the refrigeration with new one as per the terms and conditions of the warranty. Apart from that, the complainant is also entitled to the amount of Rs.50,000/- towards the litigation expenses and Rs.50,000/- towards compensation on account of mental agony and harassment.

The cause of action has arisen in favour of the complainant on the refusal of the opposite parties to replace the refrigerator with new one and when the opposite parties finally refused to admit the legal and genuine claim of the complainant. Due to this illegal act and conduct of the opposite parties the complainant has suffered great loss and also suffered mental agony, Physical harassment and inconvenience. So, there is a clear cut deficiency in service on the part of the opposite parties.

On this backdrop of facts, the complainant has alleged deficiency and unfair trade practice on the part of the opposite parties and prayed that necessary directions may kindly be issued to the opposite parties to replace refrigerator in question with the new one alongwith directions to pay Rs.1,00,000/- i.e. Rs.50,000/- towards the compensation on account of mental agony and Rs.50,000/- towards litigation expenses of the complainant, in the interest of justice and fair play.
