I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding a threatening and highly unsafe experience I had with a cab booked through MakeMyTrip for travel from Noida to Shamli.
Trip Details:
Shortly after this, the driver began demanding an additional ₹3000, claiming that because the ride had crossed midnight we had to pay the full charge for the next day. This demand was completely arbitrary and not mentioned anywhere in the booking details or on the platform. As per the app, the booking clearly allowed travel until 6:00 AM, and we had already agreed to pay legitimate night charges (₹300–₹400) and any applicable tolls.
When we refused to pay this unjustified and inflated amount, the driver’s behavior turned aggressive and threatening. Instead of contacting support himself, he repeatedly told us to “call your agent and sort it out,” clearly trying to pressure us into paying.
The situation escalated further when, at around 2:00 AM, the driver stopped the car in the middle of the road and told us to get out of the vehicle. Forcing passengers to step out of a vehicle in the middle of the night is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. This behavior amounted to intimidation and harassment, and it is shocking that such drivers are allowed to operate under your platform.
Even more concerning, after the argument the driver started driving rashly and aggressively, which made the situation even more dangerous for all passengers in the car. His driving behavior clearly put our safety at risk and created an atmosphere of fear throughout the remainder of the journey.
After significant argument and protest, he eventually continued the trip, but the entire incident left us feeling unsafe, threatened, and deeply disappointed with the standards maintained by MakeMyTrip.
