I placed an order with Zepto under Order ID PLVQJNAHS21446 for Royal Canin Kitten 36 Cat Dry Food – 2 kg. The product was delivered to me on 9 September 2026.
After receiving the product, I checked the packaging and found that its expiry date was 14 September 2026, leaving only 4 days of shelf life at the time of delivery.
The product is a 2 kg pack of cat food, which is intended to be consumed over a substantially longer period and cannot reasonably be consumed within four days. I was not informed before or at the time of purchase that the product had such an extremely short remaining shelf life.
I immediately contacted Zepto customer support through the in-app chat and subsequently raised the matter through email. I offer to provide photographs and videos showing the product, packaging, and expiry date. However, Zepto repeatedly refused to provide a refund or replacement, stating only that the product was technically “within its expiry date.”
My complaint is not that the product had already expired. My concern is that Zepto delivered a 2 kg pack with only four days of remaining shelf life without any prior disclosure, making the product unsuitable for its reasonably expected use.
Despite repeatedly requesting a resolution and escalation, Zepto has refused to provide a refund or replacement and has only stated that my feedback will be shared with the relevant team.
I therefore seek appropriate relief against Zepto for delivering a near-expiry product without adequate disclosure and for failing to provide a reasonable resolution despite multiple complaints. I have retained the product, photographs, videos, order details, and the complete communication history with Zepto as supporting evidence.
