Description:
I am filing this complaint against RedBus for gross negligence, misleading information, and lack of accountability, which resulted in financial loss and severe inconvenience during my travel.
On Friday, I booked a bus ticket through RedBus from Ahmedabad (CTM) to Rajgarh (Biaora). The destination “Biaora” was clearly mentioned on the platform, which is the sole reason I selected and booked the ticket.
Booking details are as follows:
- Ticket Number: TV5P13404968
- PNR Number: IC235034198296
- Seat Numbers: 4LB, 4LC
- Amount Paid: ₹3632
I was traveling with my elderly mother (age 56), which makes the accuracy of travel details even more critical.
During the journey, at approximately 4:00 AM, the bus staff woke us up and informed us that our dropping point had arrived. Upon clarification, I was shocked to discover that the location was Rajgarh (Dhar) instead of Rajgarh (Biaora).
The distance between these two locations is approximately 4–5 hours, which is a major deviation. As per my knowledge and intended plan, Biaora was only about 45 minutes away from my expected drop point.
When I raised this issue with the driver, he showed me the IntrCity operator system, where the destination was correctly mentioned. This clearly proves that the error originated from RedBus displaying incorrect destination information to customers.
Due to this negligence:
- I was forced to deboard at an incorrect and unknown location at 4:00 AM
- I had to manage the safety and travel of my elderly mother in an unfamiliar area
- I missed my pre-booked return train (Booking ID: V6P90944006, BRRG to MAN), resulting in a loss of ₹2917.40
- I incurred additional expenses to reach my intended destination
- My entire travel plan and schedule were disrupted
- We faced mental stress, physical inconvenience, and safety concerns
Furthermore, I lodged a complaint with RedBus immediately after the incident. However, even after more than 60 hours, there has been no response or resolution provided from their side. This reflects a complete lack of customer support and accountability.
This incident highlights serious issues including:
- Misleading and incorrect destination display
- Failure in service delivery
- Negligence impacting passenger safety
- Financial loss caused directly due to platform error
I am seeking the following relief:
- Full refund of the bus ticket amount ₹3632
- Compensation for train ticket loss ₹2917.40
- Reimbursement of additional travel expenses incurred
- Compensation for mental harassment and inconvenience caused
I request the Consumer Forum to take strict action against RedBus for such negligence and ensure that no other consumer faces a similar situation in the future.
