I am currently trying to raise a complaint for a UPI transaction issue (wrong credit / incorrect amount), but both official NPCI channels appear to be non-functional as of today.
First, the main NPCI grievance portal:
www.npci.org.in
is not working at all. The page either fails to respond properly or does not allow complaint submission.
Then there is the newer UPI help portal:
www.upihelp.npci.org.in
This platform allows login using the bank-linked mobile number. After logging in, it clearly instructs users to select the relevant transaction and raise a complaint.
However, the problem is:
The transaction list is visible
But clicking or selecting any transaction does nothing
No complaint can be initiated despite repeated attempts
So at this point, both official NPCI complaint mechanisms are effectively unusable.
This leads to a basic but critical question:
How is a user supposed to register a UPI complaint when both official channels are not functioning?
NOTE - Used AI to compile my thoughts
First, the main NPCI grievance portal:
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) - Enabling digital payments in India
National Payments Corporation of India is an Umbrella Organisation that facilitates services like UPI Payment, Bharat Bill Pay, RuPay Card, FASTag, NACH, UPI & Adhaar Based Digital Payments in India. Know More.
Then there is the newer UPI help portal:
UPI Help | Raise UPI Complaints, Check Transaction Status & Resolve Transaction Issues | NPCI
Visit the official NPCI Dispute Redressal Mechanism to check real-time transaction status, raise UPI complaints for failed payments, UPI-related issues, and access resolution support. Get assistance for wrong transactions, UPI numbers, and more.
This platform allows login using the bank-linked mobile number. After logging in, it clearly instructs users to select the relevant transaction and raise a complaint.
