Our uncle sent a personal shipment from India and it was handed over to DHL by LTL Couriers (LTL Express Pvt. Ltd.).
When shipment reached Germany and delivery is expected, we got a DHL's Customs Clearance Handling fees of 95.2 EUR (9520 INR). This was not communicated, or informed earlier. When contacted LTL, getting ignorant response. DHL suggested to contact LTL only as they sent it as 'Business' Trade type with 'DAP Erlangen' and with more item groups than necessary. This caused the DHL Germany to proceed with customs clearance and bill us. So we lose 95.2 EUR, or entire shipment value + shipment charged in India.
