Respected Sir/Madam,
I am filing this complaint against Testbook Edu Solutions Pvt. Ltd. regarding the unauthorized deduction of money from my bank account through the auto-renewal of my subscription and the subsequent refusal to refund the amount.
I had purchased a Testbook subscription for preparing for my CA Intermediate examination. At the time of purchase, the subscription was set to renew automatically. Before the renewal date, I cancelled the subscription because I did not wish to continue using the service. After cancelling it, I believed that the subscription would not renew and that no amount would be deducted from my bank account.
Despite cancelling the subscription, Testbook automatically deducted the subscription amount from my bank account without my consent. This deduction came as a complete surprise to me because I had already taken the necessary steps to stop the renewal. I never intended to renew my subscription or authorize any further payment.
As soon as I noticed the deduction, I immediately contacted Testbook's customer support through email. I explained my situation honestly and requested a refund of the deducted amount. I also attached all the necessary details and politely requested them to consider my case.
However, I received a reply from Testbook stating that my refund request had been rejected. They refused to refund the deducted amount despite my genuine request and despite the fact that I had cancelled the subscription before the renewal.
I am a student preparing for the Chartered Accountancy Intermediate examination. The deducted amount is very important to me. I had planned to use this money for my savings, but due to this unexpected deduction, I suffered financial loss. This incident has also caused me considerable mental stress, disappointment, and anxiety. I even had to explain this unexpected deduction to my family, which caused me additional emotional distress.
I strongly believe that charging a customer through auto-renewal after the customer has cancelled the subscription is unfair and amounts to an unfair trade practice. A customer who has cancelled a subscription should not be charged against their wishes. Furthermore, rejecting a genuine refund request without considering the circumstances is unfair and unreasonable.
I respectfully request the Consumer Forum to kindly intervene in this matter and direct Testbook Edu Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to refund the entire deducted amount to my original payment method(deducted-649). I also request that appropriate action be taken to ensure that no other students or consumers face similar problems due to unwanted auto-renewal deductions.
I have attached the bank transaction details, payment proof, and email communications with Testbook as supporting evidence for my complaint.
I sincerely request your kind intervention and a fair resolution of this matter.
Thank you.

Even when I raised another complaint they always sent me auto generated same mail as a reply again and again without addressing my issue properly

Despite repeatedly trying to resolve this matter directly with Testbook, I raised multiple support tickets and sent several emails in good faith. However, every ticket was either automatically closed or marked as resolved with the same generic, auto-generated response, without properly addressing my grievance or considering the facts of my case. This reflects a lack of genuine customer support and fair grievance redressal, leaving me with no option but to approach the consumer authorities for justice.
