Dear Yamaha Customer Relations Team,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding a serious and concerning incident involving your authorised Yamaha dealership/service centre, Victory Autocraft Private Limited, 77F, P.S. Khardha, B.T. Road, Kamarhati, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and its Supervisor, Mr. Abhirup Pramanik.

I am the owner of a Yamaha Aerox, Registration No. WB24BJ8143, formerly registered as KL39S4571, which I purchased in Kerala and subsequently transferred to West Bengal.

On 10 August 2026, my scooter suddenly failed to start, following which I took it to Victory Autocraft for diagnosis and repair. The vehicle was received by Mr. Abhirup Pramanik, who informed me that it would be inspected and returned by 12 August 2026.

On 11 August, I contacted the service centre for an update. I was told that no specific fault had yet been identified and that the battery had been removed and was being charged. I was assured that the actual issue would be communicated to me on 12 August.

On 12 August at approximately 3:00 PM, Mr. Abhirup called me and stated that my scooter had a serious wiring and armature problem, with an estimated repair cost of approximately ₹20,000–₹25,000. He also indicated that the repair could take approximately 22 days.

This was alarming, particularly since my Aerox has travelled only around 12,000 km. I therefore informed him that I would personally visit the service centre and requested that he make a video showing the alleged wiring and armature damage so that I could understand the issue and, if necessary, share the evidence with Yamaha Motor India.

What happened next is extremely concerning. Within approximately 10 seconds of that conversation, Mr. Abhirup called me again and completely changed his statement. He told me that the wiring and armature problem he had just described did not belong to my scooter at all, but to another scooter, and that the earlier information was merely a “communication mistake.”

The sudden reversal raises serious concerns, particularly because the original information was very specific and was immediately withdrawn after I stated that I would visit the workshop and escalate the matter to Yamaha.

I request Yamaha to conduct an independent investigation and establish the facts through documentary and physical evidence. In particular, I request Yamaha to verify:

  1. The registration/chassis number of the “other scooter” allegedly having the wiring and armature fault.
  2. Its job card, diagnostic report and technician's findings.
  3. Photographs/videos showing the alleged fault.
  4. The ₹20,000–₹25,000 repair estimate and proposed parts.
  5. The basis for the stated 22-day repair period.
  6. Whether that vehicle is currently present at Victory Autocraft.
  7. CCTV footage and relevant workshop records from 10–12 August 2026.
I also request immediate preservation of all relevant CCTV footage, job cards, diagnostic records, technician remarks, estimates, photographs, videos and vehicle movement records.

Until this matter is investigated, I request that no repair, dismantling, component replacement or alteration be carried out on my Yamaha Aerox WB24BJ8143 without my prior written consent.

I am not asking Yamaha to prejudge or punish anyone. I am requesting an objective investigation into what appears to be a serious contradiction in the information provided by an authorised dealership supervisor.

Please provide me with a formal complaint/reference number, confirmation of the investigation, and a written explanation of the findings and corrective action taken.

I expect Yamaha Motor India to ensure transparency, accountability and protection of its customers.

Regards,
SOURANGSHU PAUL
