Dear Consumer Forum,

I am filing this complaint regarding an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience after purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Book4 laptop for 33089 /- through Flipkart.

On receiving the product, the open-box delivery could not be properly completed as the laptop was completely out of charge. I trusted both Samsung and Flipkart’s reputation and proceeded to set up the device after charging it. After nearly an hour of setup and updates, I played a video on YouTube to test the audio only to discover that the sound output was extremely low, barely audible, even at maximum volume.

I immediately tried to initiate a return on Flipkart, but was redirected to contact Samsung Electronics service center.

At the service center, I was informed that this was “not a defect” and that this low audio output is how this model actually functions. Shockingly, the representative even admitted that all customers purchasing this model have raised the same issue.

This effectively means the product has a known manufacturing defect, yet it is still being actively sold without any disclosure, which is misleading and unfair to consumers.

Despite repeated attempts through both Flipkart and Samsung support, I have been denied a replacement or refund.

What was meant to be a special gift for my cousin has turned into a stressful, time-consuming, and disappointing ordeal.

My key grievances:

  1. Product was defective (or substandard) out of the box.
  2. Open-box delivery was rendered meaningless due to zero charge.
  3. Known issue acknowledged by Samsung but not disclosed during sale.
  4. Denial of return, replacement, or refund.
  5. Emotional distress and harassment caused over the past week.
I believe this clearly falls under deficiency of service and unfair trade practice, as defined by the Consumer Protection Act.

I seek:

  • Full refund of the purchase amount.
  • Appropriate compensation for the harassment and mental agony caused.
  • Directions to prevent further sale of this defective model without disclosure.
I am attaching all supporting documents — order invoice, chat records, and service center communication for your reference.
