For shorter routes like Ernakulam to Kalpetta, KSRTC blocks online bookings and opens them only 24 hours before departure. By then, most of the other seats may already be sold out, leaving passengers with little to no chance of booking a seat.
I find this system extremely inconvenient and unfair to passengers travelling shorter distances. I contacted the KSRTC manager to raise this concern, but I was told that nothing could be done about it.
If online booking is available for a service, why should passengers travelling shorter distances be denied the opportunity to book their seats in advance? This policy needs to be reconsidered. I want to know where and how this issue can be formally raised so that the authorities take it seriously.
