The recent cancellation of my flight, which was initiated by the Spicejet airline. Despite the cancellation being completely beyond my control, I was informed by your customer support representative, Mr. Kaushik, that a cancellation fee will still be charged if the refund is processed — and that a full refund will not be issued.
As per the DGCA refund policy, when a flight is cancelled by the airline, passengers are entitled to a full refund without any cancellation charges. Therefore, charging a cancellation fee in this instance is not in compliance with the applicable regulations.

To express my dissatisfaction regarding the handling of a recent flight cancellation involving a ticket booked through your platform for Mr. Shabeehul Hassan.
Despite the flight being cancelled by the airline—not due to any fault of the passenger—I was still charged a service fee by your platform which is rs 400 per pax. This is particularly disappointing given that other travel platforms such as EaseMyTrip, ClearTrip, and several others do not charge any service or cancellation fee in such cases.
Additionally, at the time of booking, I had already paid a Convenience Fee of ₹700, which further adds to the frustration. It is extremely unfair to charge customers repeatedly for services that are supposed to make travel easier.
Because of the cancellation, I had to make two trips to the airport to drop and later pick up my family. Moreover, a crucial doctor’s appointment scheduled in Kolkata for Mr. Shabeehul Hassan had to be cancelled, causing further stress and inconvenience. My family spent more than 4 hours at the airport amidst chaos and confusion.
This entire experience was not only inconvenient but also costly, both emotionally and financially. I sincerely urge HappyFares to re-evaluate its policies on cancellation charges in the event of airline-initiated cancellations and to consider refunding the service fee in such situations. Please process the full refund else I will tweet this and raise it to consumer court as well.
