I purchased and installed a 3 kW UTL Hybrid Solar System in May 2026 at a cost of approximately ₹2,00,000. Since installation, the inverter has developed serious faults three times. The first fault occurred almost immediately after installation, and the inverter was repaired by the company. However, the inverter failed again after around 15 days, and the company carried out another repair.
For the third time, the inverter completely stopped working on 26 August 2026, with a burning smell coming from it. I immediately lodged a complaint. The technician informed me that parts had to be ordered from Delhi and would take around seven days. Even after the technician's visit and replacement of a component, the inverter was not repaired. I was again told that another part had to be ordered, resulting in further delay. After so many ph call he came again after 1 week, but this time also he was not able to repair it. For the third time he told the same sentence i.e another part had to be ordered. After that he never picked my call.Another serious issue is the complete lack of communication and customer support. Despite making repeated calls for the last 30 days, the concerned technician rarely answers and keeps giving false assurances such as “today” or “tomorrow.” Even the Escalation Manager, whose number was provided as the higher authority, has not answered a single call despite approximately 30 attempts over the past 30 days. There appears to be no effective higher authority or grievance mechanism available to the customer.
As of 25 September 2026, approximately 1 month have passed, but the issue remains unresolved. During this period, I have received no backup during power cuts and no solar generation, causing me financial loss and additional electricity expenses.
The repeated failures from the beginning indicate an apparent manufacturing/inherent defect in the inverter and deficiency in after-sales service. I therefore request the Hon'ble Consumer Commission to direct the company to immediately replace the defective inverter with a new defect-free unit. If the company fails to do so, I seek full refund of the amount paid, along with appropriate compensation for financial loss, additional electricity expenses, inconvenience and mental harassment, and litigation costs.
