Complaint against Eureka Forbes for deficiency in service and unfair trade practices

I would like to file a complaint against Eureka Forbes Ltd. regarding continuous deficiency in service, negligence, and unfair trade practices concerning my water purifier (Aquasure Amaze RO+UV+MTDS).

I purchased the above-mentioned water purifier approximately 4 years ago. Since then, I have been regularly maintaining the product under Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC). Last year, I renewed my AMC for a period of 2 years by paying an amount of ₹5500+.

However, for the past one year, I have been facing serious and recurring issues with the machine. The purifier stops working on its own (no power and no water filtration), and despite raising multiple service requests through their website and customer care, no technician is assigned within the promised time. In many cases, no action is taken even after a week or more.

The major issue occurred during my last service request when a technician visited and informed me that the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) of the purifier was faulty and needed replacement. Instead of resolving the issue, the technician made a temporary direct connection, bypassing the PCB and disabling the UV function, and assured that the required part would be replaced within a few days.

However, even after several weeks and repeated follow-ups, no replacement was provided. Later, I was informed that the required PCB is not available. Instead of resolving the issue, the company offered me the following:

  • Refund of AMC
  • Buyback of old purifier for ₹700–₹800
  • Purchase of a new purifier for approximately ₹12,000

I declined this offer as I do not wish to purchase a new machine when I have already paid for AMC services.

It has now been over 2–3 months, and the company continues to delay resolution, stating that the part is still unavailable. This clearly reflects negligence and lack of responsibility. Due to the temporary direct connection:

  • The purifier takes excessive time to filter water
  • There is significant water wastage
  • Filters are getting exhausted quickly
  • Water quality has deteriorated and tastes bad

Additionally, I would like to bring to your notice that even a senior representative from Eureka Forbes stated over a call that the PCB would never be available and I may file a complaint if I wish. Such behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable.

Furthermore, the service provider in Dehradun is extremely poor, with repeated delays and lack of response.

Grounds for Complaint:

  1. Deficiency in service
  2. Unfair trade practices
  3. Failure to honor AMC commitments
  4. Mental harassment and inconvenience
  5. Supply of defective and improperly serviced product

Relief Sought:
I humbly request the Hon’ble Commission to direct the Opposite Party to:
  1. Repair the purifier by replacing the faulty PCB immediately, OR provide a replacement unit at no additional cost
  2. Refund the AMC amount of ₹5500+ if service cannot be provided
  3. Compensate for mental harassment, inconvenience, and financial loss
  4. Take appropriate action against the company for unfair practices

I sincerely request your intervention in this matter.
