On 11 August, sent a parcel to Civil Lines and the uber guy did not deliver and disappeared.
The parcel was to be delivered in 20 mins, the driver took almost an hour. Despite clear traffic conditions, the driver intentionally stalled the trip at Govind Marg, Jaipur for approximately 30 minutes without any valid cause or authorization, strongly indicating an intention to inspect and tamper with the parcel.
Upon arriving in the vicinity of Civil Lines, he did not stop at the designated delivery address, nor did he attempt to contact the intended recipient.
Instead, he fraudulently marked the status in the app as "Reached Destination", triggering the 7-minute automatic wait timer while remaining in motion.
We made repeated phone calls to him. When he briefly answered, he falsely claimed to be waiting near Canara Bank, immediately disconnected the call, turned off communication, and absconded with the valuable parcel. He claims that he met someone there who claimed the parcel, so he gave it without checking their ID or contact of recepient as mentioned on the trip.
The parcel contained clothes worth INR 5000/-, chocolates worth INR 1000/- and a perfume worth INR 5000/-. The total is worth INR 11,000/-.
Now he is has gone away to his village because he doesnt want to face the legal process. He has committed offenses amounting to Criminal Breach of Trust and Theft . A formal police complaint is being lodged in this regard. Uber has to pay Compensation for Mental Agony, Harassment and stress for the missing items and no answer by the driver.
