I've recently booked a hotel in Puri on 8th February and it was around 5 AM when I contacted Oyo support team to find a hotel who can provide early check in without any additional charges and the Hotel guy agreed that they can check me in at 7 AM without any additional cost, I reached hotel around 06:45 and asked the hotel guy if I check in now will I have to pay anything extra he said no and I asked if I need to pay him directly or pay in the app and he said you can pay in the app and before making the payment I checked with him once again that this is the only amount that I need to pay and he said that yes this is the only amount that I've to pay, so based on the verbal confirmation I paid the booking amount which was 1077 in the app at 06:48 and once the payment was done after few minutes the guy in the reception stated that I need to pay an additional amount of 314 for which I rejected and tried to contact the OYO support team in this interim the reception guy said that you look tired and indeed I was so why don't you take a rest now and clear this later, I appreciated his help and went to the room around 07:00.

Since I was on pilgrimage I didnt had the time to speak to OYO team and when checking out on 9th I was astonished to find that the charge which was added was for early checkin and the terrible oyo support team said that they can't do anything about this I've the CCTV recording which shows the timeline and fortunately the audio recording as well please let me know how can I file a case against them as this is a scam

Hello @Vivekganesh

It is a common grievance faced by customers of OYO, wherein hotels refuse to allow entry to guests despite valid and confirmed bookings, and further demand payment for the same, even when the customer is in possession of all booking confirmations and related details.

We are outlining the first step to be taken before filing a case in the Consumer Forum.

Please follow the steps mentioned below. If you have already contacted the OYO customer care via email and have not received any response, kindly share the relevant details with us so that we may guide you further.

Online
We recommend that you first email to the customer care department of the OYO (india.grievances@oyorooms.com, escalations@oyorooms.com), clearly outlining your concerns and requesting for Compensation and also ask them to Refund the amount.

This step not only gives the OYO a chance to compensate and refund but also helps strengthen your case if you decide to file a complaint with the Consumer Forum later..

Offline
You can also send Legal Notice via registered post at OYO Head Office

9th Floor, Spaze Palazo,
Southern Peripheral Road, Sector 69,
Gurugram, Haryana, 1222001, India

If they already refunded the amount and provided you the reference number but the amount is not reflecting in your account, please contact your bank or payment provider.

Please wait for a reasonable time for their response. If they do not respond or fail to resolve the matter satisfactorily, feel free to reach out to us again. When you do, kindly include a copy of your email to them and any response (if received), so we can guide you on the next steps.

Best regards,
Thanks
