Complaint Details
I booked an Ola S1 Pro+ 4 kWh electric scooter in Stellar Blue on 3 July 2026 through the Ola Bhowanipore Experience Centre in Kolkata. I purchased the vehicle in good faith and expected Ola Electric to complete the delivery within a reasonable period.
However, despite the passage of several months, Ola Electric has still not delivered my scooter as of 28 October 2026.
The most disturbing aspect of this matter is that the insurance process was completed, registration-related payments were made, my vehicle registration number was generated, and Bajaj Finance disbursed the financed amount to Ola Electric. Despite these steps, I have been left without the scooter for which I have been paying.
Registration Completed, but Vehicle Still Not Delivered
I received my insurance documents before 6 July 2026. I subsequently received a call regarding registration, and I paid the registration-related charges.
On 22 July 2026, I received a message stating:
“New Transaction(s) approved … RC generation is in progress.”
I subsequently received my vehicle registration number before 30 July 2026.
Despite the registration process having progressed to this stage, Ola Electric has failed to hand over the scooter to me.
This raises serious questions about why the vehicle was registered and the associated formalities were completed when Ola Electric was unable to deliver it to the customer within a reasonable time.
Bajaj Finance Disbursed the Loan, and I Have Been Paying EMIs Without Receiving the Scooter
Bajaj Finance disbursed the financed amount to Ola Electric on 25 July 2026, according to the information available to me.
My EMI is ₹6,161 per month, payable on the 2nd of each month. The first EMI commenced on 2 September 2026, and I have already paid multiple EMIs while still waiting for delivery of the scooter.
As of 28 October 2026, I have paid two EMIs, totalling ₹12322, without receiving possession of the vehicle.moreover from 3rd July to 1st September bajaj has taken the interest
I am now facing a serious financial burden. I am being required to pay monthly instalments for a vehicle that I cannot use because Ola Electric has not delivered it.
I have not received any written commitment from Bajaj Finance promising a deferment of my EMIs. My complaint regarding the non-delivery is directed primarily against Ola Electric, which has failed to fulfil its delivery obligation despite the financing arrangement having been completed.
Repeated Complaints and No Satisfactory Response
I have sent three emails to Ola Electric seeking an explanation and a firm delivery date. Unfortunately, I have not received a satisfactory response to those emails.
On 9 September 2026, I received a telephone call from Ola Electric's head office asking whether I still wished to take delivery of my scooter. When I asked when I would receive it, I was told that delivery would take place on or before 30 September 2026.
That assurance was not fulfilled.
Subsequently, I was informally told that delivery might take place around the middle of October. However, that period also passed without delivery.
On 16 October 2026, I received information from another Ola showroom in Garia that one Ola S1 Pro+ scooter had reportedly been dispatched from Ola's Futurefactory to the Bhowanipore showroom. Despite this information, the Bhowanipore showroom did not provide me with a clear update or hand over my vehicle.
I have been left to obtain information from other showrooms rather than receiving transparent and reliable updates from the showroom where I booked the scooter.
Now Ola Is Asking Me to Cancel and Rebook
The latest and most disturbing development is that representatives of the Ola Bhowanipore showroom have verbally approached me and asked me to cancel my existing order and book the scooter again.
I fail to understand why a customer who booked the vehicle months ago, completed the necessary formalities, obtained a registration number, and has already started paying EMIs should be asked to cancel and rebook instead of being given the vehicle originally ordered.
I am concerned that cancelling my existing order could create further complications involving my registration, the Bajaj Finance loan, the EMIs already paid, and any applicable government subsidy or incentive.
I have not agreed to cancel my order. I want Ola Electric to fulfil its original commitment and deliver my scooter without forcing me into a fresh booking.
If Ola Electric believes that cancellation is necessary for any reason, the company must first provide a complete written explanation and a legally and financially clear resolution covering the existing registration, loan disbursement, EMIs, insurance, and any applicable subsidy.
Government Subsidy and Registration Concerns
I am also concerned about the status of any government subsidy or incentive associated with my scooter.
I want Ola Electric to clarify in writing whether any subsidy or incentive has been claimed, credited, adjusted, or retained in connection with my purchase, and how it would be treated if Ola insists on cancellation and rebooking.
I should not suffer a financial loss or lose an eligible benefit because of a delivery failure attributable to the company.
Ola Electric must also explain how the existing vehicle registration will be handled if it insists on cancelling the original order. I do not want to be left responsible for registration complications arising from the company's failure to deliver the scooter.
Grounds of Complaint
The circumstances raise serious concerns regarding:
1. Prolonged non-delivery of the scooter despite the booking being made on 3 July 2026.
2. Failure to honour the telephone assurance that delivery would occur on or before 30 September 2026.
3. Failure to provide a satisfactory response to three grievance emails.
4. Completion of insurance and registration formalities without actual delivery of the vehicle.
5. Loan disbursement to Ola Electric followed by the customer being required to pay EMIs without receiving possession.
6. Failure to provide transparent information about the vehicle's dispatch and arrival at the Bhowanipore showroom.
7. Verbal pressure to cancel and rebook instead of fulfilling the original order.
8. Uncertainty regarding the existing registration, financing arrangement, insurance, and applicable government subsidy.
I believe these circumstances warrant investigation for possible deficiency in service and appropriate relief under applicable consumer protection law.
Relief Sought
I request Ola Electric Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to:
1. Immediately deliver my originally booked Ola S1 Pro+ 4 kWh Stellar Blue scooter and provide a written, confirmed delivery date.
2. Provide a written explanation for the prolonged delay and failure to honour the delivery assurance given for 30 September 2026.
3. Explain why I am being asked to cancel and rebook an order for which registration and financing formalities have already progressed.
4. Confirm the present status of my registered vehicle, including its physical location, dispatch status, and availability for handover.
5. Provide a written statement of the status of any applicable government subsidy or incentive connected with my purchase.
6. Ensure that I do not suffer financial loss concerning registration, insurance, loan processing, or subsidy solely because of Ola Electric's failure to deliver.
7. Provide an appropriate remedy for the EMIs paid during the period of non-delivery, together with compensation for the prolonged delay, inconvenience, and financial hardship, as may be legally justified.
8. Respond to my pending grievances in writing and resolve the matter without further delay.
If Ola Electric is genuinely unable to deliver the scooter, it must provide a complete written proposal for cancellation, refund, loan closure or settlement with Bajaj Finance, treatment of the existing registration and insurance, and reimbursement of eligible losses before expecting me to agree to cancellation.
Conclusion
I booked my Ola S1 Pro+ 4 kWh scooter on 3 July 2026. The insurance and registration processes progressed, my registration number was generated, Bajaj Finance disbursed the financed amount, and I have already paid multiple EMIs.
Yet, as of 28 October 2026, I still do not have the scooter.
I have repeatedly contacted Ola Electric, sent three grievance emails, relied on delivery assurances, and waited beyond the promised dates. I have now been verbally asked by the Bhowanipore showroom to cancel and rebook instead of receiving the vehicle I originally ordered.
This is an extremely frustrating situation for a customer who has complied with the purchase and financing process in good faith.
I am publishing this complaint to seek a transparent explanation, a proper resolution, and accountability from Ola Electric. I request the company to stop giving indefinite assurances, stop asking me to cancel without a complete written resolution, and either deliver my scooter immediately or provide a legally and financially complete remedy.
I reserve the right to approach the appropriate consumer dispute redressal authority and other competent authorities if the matter remains unresolved.
I request Ola Electric to respond publicly and in writing, and to resolve this matter at the earliest.
