- Issue Category: Delivery of Unhygienic/Defective Product & Unlawful Forcible Issuance of In-App Coupon
Summary of Dispute:
On 18th October 2026, I ordered items through the Blinkit app and paid in full using my Amazon Pay Wallet. Upon opening the package, the delivered item was found to be extremely dirty and visibly stained, demonstrating gross negligence by the packing and quality assurance staff.
I promptly initiated a return, and the return pickup was accepted under Return ID ORD02570951037. However, instead of crediting the refund amount back to my original mode of payment (Amazon Pay Wallet), Blinkit unilaterally and wrongfully credited the balance as an in-app Blinkit coupon. When I contacted customer support to object, the representative falsely alleged that I had elected to receive a coupon, which I never authorized or requested.
Forcing a customer to accept in-app promotional coupons instead of refunding real money to the original source constitutes an Unfair Trade Practice under Section 2(47) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and a direct violation of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Blinkit cannot compel or trap a consumer into mandatory future purchases.
Demand:
I demand that my entire purchase amount for Return ID ORD02570951037 be credited directly back to my Amazon Pay Wallet within 48 hours. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will pursue legal remedies before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (e-Daakhil) claiming additional damages for harassment, deficiency of service, and litigation expenses.
