I'm writing this to share my extremely disappointing experience with MakeMyTrip.
I've booked 2 Fly91 tickets for my parents through MakeMyTrip (Booking PNR-YV7A2D). The flight (IC 3205 from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry on 28th August 2026) initially departed as scheduled. However, during the journey, the flight encountered severe turbulence and technical issues, due to which the aircraft was forced to return and land at the departure place. Subsequently, after considerable waiting and uncertainty, the flight was officially cancelled.
The cancellation of the flight was entirely due to operational reasons and beyond my control. Despite the flight cancellation from the airline end and no other alternative provided for me, I have been issued only 20% of refund of the amount paid. The deduction of the remaining 80% of the fare is arbitrary, unjustified, and amounts to a clear deficiency in service.
Further, when I contacted MakeMyTrip customer service to seek clarification and resolution, I was repeatedly assisted by an automated virtual assistant that merely repeated the same refund information. My repeated requests to speak to a human customer service representative were ignored.
As a customer, I trusted MakeMyTrip to assist me when things went wrong. Instead, I have been left chasing the virtual assistant of MakeMyTrip with no accountability, no ownership, and no meaningful assistance.
The lack of communication with MakeMyTrip has been just as frustrating as the flight cancellation itself. A company of MakeMyTrip's size should have robust escalation mechanisms and empowered support teams—not customers being endlessly bounced between virtual assistants while no one takes responsibility.
I am now left with no option but to escalate this matter to the appropriate consumer authorities and share my experience publicly.
