Hi Mam/Sir,

I have been contacted frequently by job portals while i am searching for a job change.

One among that is Shine , I firstly didn’t believe and thought to search my job by myself however due to my role I was not getting frequent position in job portals.

Shine was keep on calling me and told they will help me to find the job .

I didn’t believe at first however in one call they told to pay for registration and they will find a job for me mentioning this was a valid one and was recognised by Hindustan Times News papers, but still hesitated.

As the time passes, I was able to go thorough multiple interviews and got selected by one company but later that position got canceled.

I was in my low times and I certainly believed shine considering the mail id match from company’s.

But through out the process of registeration they were keep on asking money.

With the sweet talks for background verification , educational verification, resume build , training , expert guide which sum up to 70 k.

Post the payment they are dropping the mail stating as they build up the resumes and circulate however they can’t guarantee on the job offering and can’t work on scheduling a call with interviewer.

Also asking to search the job in their portal looking for the position suitable.


But the same thing i am doing for the past six months without paying and after paying too i am going to do the same.

I don’t see any profit from their service and when asked for the refund they are providing back my money mentioning there is no refund policy.

They didn’t mention me about no refund policy and they didn’t mention me about no guarantee to find the job.

Please help me in recovering my money.

Facts giving rise to filing of this complaint are that on 04.12.2020 complainant received a phone call from opposite party's online job portal namely Shine.com in order to avail the priority highlighter service for a total amount of Rs.3027/-. Per complainant he was allured by the opposite party to avail services of opposite party for the purpose of job with priority locations. It is pleaded that complainant was assured by the opposite party Customer Care team that complainant will receive the required job on priority job locations of Delhi NCR, Punjab or Haryana or near Himachal Pradesh within a week. The Complainant was firstly communicated to pay an amount of Rs.7,669/-, thereafter Rs.12,625/- for the second time and Rs.16,754/- finally on the very same day respectively by the OP's Team Member namely Gaurav. Opposite party tricked the complainant to pay smaller amounts and thereby generated bills of higher amounts, which was refused to pay by complainant. Alleging unfair trade practice and deficiency in the service on the part of opposite party(s), the complainant has filed the present complaint.


Accordingly, the complaint is allowed and opposite party is directed to refund entire amount of Rs.40,075/- to the complainant along with interest @ 6% per annum from the date of complaint i.e. 25.10.2021 till its realization. The opposite party is also directed to pay lump sum amount of Rs.20,000/- to the complainant as compensation, besides litigation cost quantified as Rs.7,500/- to be paid by the opposite party.
