Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing this complaint to raise a very serious issue against Zepto for delivering an EXPIRED food product to my family, which is not only gross negligence but a direct threat to human life, especially children.

This is not the first time such negligence has happened with Zepto deliveries. Similar incidents have occurred multiple times earlier as well, where expired or near-expiry products were delivered. This clearly shows a dangerous and careless pattern in their operations.

On 10-05-2026, I placed an order through Zepto under:

  • Invoice No.: 260536G003446209
  • Order No.: QTMQJHYRQ59221A
  • Product: KitKat Delights Salted Caramel Choco Coated Wafer Chocolate Bar (112g)
  • Amount Charged: ₹134
  • Seller: Geddit Convenience Private Limited, Hyderabad
After delivery, we discovered that the chocolate provided by Zepto was EXPIRED. The product packaging clearly shows:

  • Packed Date: 22/11/25
  • Use By / Expiry Date: 19/01/26
Despite the product being expired months ago, it was still stored, processed, and delivered to customers. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous.

My children were about to consume this chocolate, and fortunately, I checked the expiry date in time and stopped them. Had this expired food been consumed, it could have caused severe food poisoning, health complications, or worse. Selling expired consumable products is equivalent to playing with customers’ lives.

What is even more shocking is that after reporting this serious matter, Zepto simply offered a refund for the chocolate as if human safety and consumer health can be compensated with a small refund amount. This careless attitude proves that the company does not treat food safety violations seriously.

This is not a minor delivery mistake. This is:

  • Gross negligence
  • Violation of food safety laws
  • Deficiency in service
  • Mental harassment to customers
  • Endangerment of children’s health and public safety
I request the Consumer Court and Food Safety Authorities to take immediate and strict legal action against Zepto and the seller involved. Companies handling food products must be held accountable for selling expired items to consumers.

I demand:

  1. Immediate investigation against Zepto and the seller for selling expired food products.
  2. Strict legal and financial penalties under Consumer Protection and Food Safety laws.
  3. Compensation for mental harassment, safety risk, and negligence.
  4. Inspection of Zepto warehouses and inventory management practices to prevent further incidents.
  5. Written explanation from Zepto on how expired products are reaching customers repeatedly.
  6. Assurance that strict quality checks will be implemented immediately.

  • Invoice/Bill copy
  • Photograph of the expired product clearly showing expiry details
I request urgent intervention before such negligence causes serious harm to another family or child.
