I want to complain regarding the unprofessional, deceptive, and fraudulent practices exhibited by the Haier authorised service centre and its technicians. Despite raising an official ticket and paying upfront charges, my refrigerator remains broken, the service personnel have stopped responding after taking my money, and my service request was closed without my consent.
- Brand: Haier
- Product: Refrigerator (Model: HRD-1953PMO-E / Manufacture Year: 2019)
- Service Request Number: WR20260428000096 (Raised on 28th April 2026)
- Warranty Status: 10-Year Compressor Warranty (Note: I explicitly informed customer care upfront that my original invoice was misplaced and that I was willing to opt for a paid service).
Chronology of Events:
- 28th April 2026: I registered a cooling complaint with Haier support. I clearly stated I did not have the invoice and agreed to a paid service. Service request WR20260428000096 was generated.
- Initial Delays: I received a call to confirm my address, but heard nothing for 3 days. I had to manually follow up to get the technician's direct number.
- Upfront Money Collected: The technician visited my home, collected ₹470 as visiting charges, and claimed two components needed immediate replacement. He demanded an advance of ₹2,200, which I paid via UPI.
- Continuous Stalling (6+ Days Wasted): For the next week, the technician gave me the runaround, claiming parts hadn't arrived. Another individual claiming to be a technician called; I put them on a conference call where they recognised each other and coordinated sending the part. Despite this, both individuals subsequently ignored my calls.
- 14th May 2026 (The Fraudulent Repair Attempt): The original technician finally arrived, but he brought only one unsealed part loose in his bag instead of the two brand-new parts I paid for. He replaced it in under 2 minutes and told me to run the fridge for 2 hours.
- Exorbitant Demands: He stated that if it still did not cool, the compressor needed replacing. He then demanded the original invoice for a free replacement, or else quoted an exorbitant ₹8,000 to ₹10,000—completely ignoring that I had already informed Haier on day one that I did not have the invoice.
- Refusal to Leave Without Closure Code: Without verifying if the refrigerator was actually working (it wasn't), he demanded the service closure OTP. I refused to share it for an unresolved issue, and he left.
- Unfulfilled Refund Promise: At 7:30 PM the same day, a service centre representative called, also demanding the closure code. I narrated the entire ordeal and demanded a full refund of my ₹2,200. He agreed to arrange a refund, but has completely stopped responding to my calls since.
- Unauthorised Service Request Closure: To add insult to injury, despite my explicit refusal to share the closure code and my appliance remaining broken, the service centre fraudulently closed my request. I received an automated SMS stating: "Dear Customer, your request ID [WR20260428000096] is resolved." This is a blatant manipulation of service records to cover up extortion and service deficiency. I request immediate escalation, a full refund of the ₹2,200 advance, and a proper resolution to my appliance issue.
