The failure to resolve a display defect on my OnePlus 8 smartphone despite its public commitment to provide a lifetime display warranty for eligible devices affected by the green line issue.
I own a OnePlus 8 smartphone. After installing an official update released by OnePlus, a green line appeared on the display. Soon afterward, a white line also developed. The device has never been dropped, physically damaged, or exposed to water. The display issue occurred only after the official update.
Since OnePlus has publicly stated that it provides a lifetime display warranty for devices affected by the green line issue, I approached an authorized OnePlus service center for assistance. However, I was informed that the display for the OnePlus 8 is no longer available because the required spare parts are out of stock. I was also told that OnePlus would neither replace the display nor provide any compensation, replacement device, refund, or other suitable remedy.
This action is unfair and amounts to a clear deficiency in service. A company cannot announce a lifetime warranty and then deny the promised benefit merely because spare parts are unavailable. The defect arose after an official update issued by the company, and I should not be made to suffer due to OnePlus's inability to maintain the necessary spare parts or provide an alternative solution.
