On April 14, 2025, I bought two air conditioners from the Poorvika branch in Tiruvallur to combat the summer. The cost was Rs. 79,900.00 (39,950.00 per AC), and with stabilisers, cost was Rs. 87,000.00. I made the offline purchase because I wanted to see the dealer, customer support representative, and service provider in person.
However, the whole encounter disproved my theory. On April 17, 2025, installation personnel from Haier arrived, stating that they also install O-general air conditioners, which had been delivered on April 15, 2025. I had to pay Rs. 3000.00 for the additional material needed for fitting even though the installation was free. Since the location already had a sunshade, there was no need for an AC output or compressor stand, therefore the Rs. 3000.00 went only for the consumables.
My current expenses as of this point has reached total of Rs. 90k, which includes Rs. 87k (AC with stabilisers) plus Rs. 3k (installation).
I selected two air conditioners: one for the hall, which lacked an AC socked and wiring, and one for the bedroom, which was having wiring and sockets of AC already. Both the hall and the bedroom air conditioners were fitted, and the bedroom's AC was operating without any problems.
When the hall air conditioner was tested using a standard plug point, the technicians concluded that there was a wiring problem because the house and its wiring were ancient. They advised me to call electricians and instructed us to call them once the wires and sockets were available.
Since the property is rented, the owner scheduled an electrician for April 19, 2025, who arrived and installed electrical wiring and outlets, costing me an additional Rs. 6,000.00. The total cost now stands at Rs. 96k. The problem with LEDs and the AC turning off persisted when we turned on the air conditioner in the hall, just as it had on April 17th, 2015. When the cabling and AC sockets are finished, technicians advised calling him right away if any of the LEDs at hall AC were blinking. So, we did call him as advised. We asked the technician to talk with the electrician, technicians informed us that they would be coming on April 20, 2025, to fix the issue.
On April 20, 2025, the technician did not answer any calls and did not respond to any WhatsApp messages. We therefore spoke with Poorvika that same day, and they promised to fix the matter by April 21, 2025, at 1200 hours.
Once more, some Haier professionals arrived and inspected the power supply, voltage stabilizers, input and output units, and concluded that the PCB at the compressor unit was defective with no means to fix it.
I'm still not at all at peace, even after spending about one lakh.
I kindly ask that Poorvika and the O-General Staff take care of this and either replace one air conditioner which is faulty without any additional cost or give me a refund with compensation for mental agony, harassment, poor service support and experience.
