Complaint against:
1.Prism (formerly known as Oravel Stays Limited. ( OYO), Gurugram, Hariyana.
2.Owner of Hotel TOWNHOUSE PORT BLAIR SEA VIEW FORMERLY DEV MAHAL, Junglighat Vilkage,Dhan Shopping Mall, A&N Iskand, Port Blair, 744102.
3.Owner of Hotel O Pearl Marine, Port Blair.Rina Road, South Point, Shadipur, Sri Vijay Puram, A&N Island, Port Blair, 744106.
Complaint Description :
Ihave booked Hotel for aviling LTC of Govt of West Bengal from OYO mobile application on dated 21.09.2026 (Booking ID- XPHT 7930) at Hotel TOWNHOUSE PORT BLAIR SEA VIEW FORMERLY DEV MAHAL from 09.10.2026 to 12.10 2026 and paid full amount online Rs.8774.00 for 3 days accomodation and fooding.
Booking confirmation voucher has been recived on same day. On 08.10.2026 i contacted property through oyo app namely: Akash Panth (9123731871) confirmed me again that booking is confirmed. i asked him hotel location also he assuured me that he will send hotel location through watsapp very soon.
on 09.10.2026 i reached Sri Vijay Puram and reached at hotel dev mahal primises at 1:30 PM saw that the hotel is closed no one is there. Asked nebourer shopkeepers about this hotel, they surprised and told that this hotel is not in operational for a long time.
I was helpless that time, called oyo customer care several times then customer care told they have shifted my booking to another hotel namely HOTEL O PEARL MARINE, SOUTH POINT i can check in there by paying additional amount showing in app.
I checked the oyo app again shocked that Total Booking amount for this Shifted hotel on same booking ID+(Booking ID- XPHT 7930) is Rs. 28149.00 and my paid amount Rs.8774.00 adjusted and additional Rs.19375.00 i have to pay again for check in. I called shifted hotel mobile no showing in oyo app mob no. (9632443075), he send me location of the hotel.
Again i am puzzled when i saw that the hotel is complely different and a abandoned mirror hotel but same name Pearl marine and oyo customer care told me either i have to stay on that abandoned hotel. by paying additional Rs. 19375.00 or i have to pay cancellation fee that is 100% booking amount Rs.8774.00 no refund, then i affirmed that its a group scam an i am victims of that.
I was with my family along with child totally bewildered and helpless. After that any how with help of some local people we reached local police station on 09.10.2026 afternoon, that is Aberdeen Police Station, Near Aberdeen bazar,Vijay Puram, A& N island, PIN - 744101. After listening my complaint they called Mr Akash Panth so-called owner of Dev mahal hotel/ Hotel O pearl marine hotel/ Abandoned Hotel Pearl Marine, but he denied to refund my money saying its OYO company`s fault.
Then i decide to given written complaint cum GD at Abedin Police station after long waiting they take my complaint and assured me to investigate and arrange to refund my money.
But noting happed till now.
Our tour planning was totaly destroyed and mental and financial damage occurred due to this type group scam.
List of organize crime as follows.
1. OYO take advance booking and advance money in the name of false/ Closed hotel.(Booking ID- XPHT 7930)
2. OYO Change/ shift hotel without customer permission / intimation at last moment before 1 to 2 hr check-in at a higher rate 4 to 5 times higher than market rate and adjusted prebook money with additional payment demand.(Booking ID- XPHT 7930)
3.Property maneger are prepared a abandoned house or home stay or resturant name same as luxary hotel listed as OYO Website. Example. Hotel O Pearl Marine listed on OYO with luxary picture and 3 star rated.
But an Abandoned/ homestay hotel lower than 1star was named Hotel Pearl marine which is not listed in OYO but property maneger are divert online prepaid prebooked customer to that low catagory hotel.(Booking ID- XPHT 7930)
4.OYO denied refund money which was booked on closed hotel.(Booking ID- XPHT 7930)
5. After complaint in Police Station OYO Shown that i have stayed their shited property Hotel Pearl O Marine by paying Rs.28149.00 ( Rs. 8774.00 online prebook amount + Rs.19375.00 Cash payment at property ) from 09.10.2026 to 12.10.2026, same (Booking ID- XPHT 7930) its also a big scam for deniying my refund claim.I neither stayed at any oyo property nor i paid any cash.
6. OYO Hotel Deleting all my booking record hotel shifted details and payment details, fraud checkin, check out details gradually to destroying the evidance.
My Original Stay details are as follows :
1. 09.10.2026-10.10.2026- Hotel Sampath Regency, Aberdeen bazar, opp- Goenkas, port blair, 744101.
2. 10.10.2026 to 12.10.2026 - Hotel Reef atlantis, Sisty Nagar Marine gate, Port Blair, 744101.
Compensation Demand:
***Payable to Me.
1. Prebook amont with interest Rs. 8774.00 + 10% p.m interest.
2. Travel expance for travel 3 nos hotel and police station: Rs. 3000.00
3. Tour plan cancel/modifications reschedule cost- Rs. 15,000.00
4.For mental and financially harrousment - Rs. 20000.00
***Payable to Govt./ Govt investigate agency.
Rs. 500000.00 minimum for investigation charge penalty for fraud buisness.
Kindly lodge a FIR/Case against fraud OYO Company and attached hotel owners and investigate the matter and impose a massive penalty on those curlpits, So that any fraud group think twice before commencement of this type scam as well as protects tourist from them.
