Subject: Formal Consumer Complaint Regarding Potentially Misleading Brand Listings, Seller Authenticity and Suspected Sale of Counterfeit Products

Dear Grievance Redressal Team,

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding the authenticity and transparency of branded products being sold on your e-commerce platform.

As a consumer, I have noticed multiple product listings where products are advertised using established brand names such as Samsung and HP. However, certain store names, seller identities, product descriptions, images, and listing details appear inconsistent or potentially misleading.

I have attached screenshots highlighting the following concerns:

1. Misleading Brand Store Identity: A page displayed under the HP Store name shows the branding "Hindustan Perfumer". This creates confusion regarding the actual brand identity and authenticity of the store.

2. HP-Branded Products: A 256GB HP V229 pen drive is advertised under the HP brand. I request verification of the seller's authorization and the product's authenticity.

3. Samsung 45W Chargers: Multiple listings advertise Samsung Original 45W Type-C travel adapters, but they display different prices, ratings, product variations, and seller/listing details. This raises concerns about whether consumers can reliably distinguish genuine Samsung products from unauthorized or counterfeit alternatives.

4. Consumer Protection and Seller Verification: Consumers generally trust products listed under established brand names, particularly during major online sales. However, the current presentation of certain listings makes it difficult to confidently establish whether the products are genuine and whether the sellers are authorized.

I have also purchased products during online sales, relying on the brand names and product representations displayed on the platform. This situation has raised genuine concerns about product authenticity and consumer safety.

I therefore request the following actions:

1. Conduct a proper investigation into the above-mentioned product listings and sellers.
2. Verify the authenticity of the products and the authorization of the respective sellers.
3. Provide documentary clarification regarding the brand ownership, seller identity, and authenticity verification process.
4. Explain why potentially confusing or inconsistent brand/store identities are displayed to consumers.
5. Take appropriate action against sellers found to be listing counterfeit, unauthorized, or misleadingly advertised products.
6. Introduce stronger brand and seller verification procedures to protect consumers.
7. Provide a written response explaining the action taken on this complaint.
8. If any purchased product is found to be counterfeit or materially different from its advertised description, provide an appropriate refund or replacement and other remedies available under consumer protection laws.

I wish to emphasize that this complaint is not merely about an individual purchase. It concerns consumer trust, transparency, product authenticity, and the responsibility of e-commerce platforms to protect millions of customers.

I request that this matter be investigated seriously under the applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

If this matter is not adequately addressed, I reserve my right to escalate the complaint before the National Consumer Helpline and the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

I look forward to receiving a formal acknowledgement and a satisfactory written response.
