We have been living in a rented apartment at Narayan Baug, Flat D-504, Sinhagad Road for the past 9 months, and what we are facing with the electricity department is absolutely unacceptable.

We have just five electrical appliances—2 fans, 1 TV, 1 mixer, and 1 laptop. With such limited usage, our bill should never go beyond ₹1,500. But shockingly, we’ve been getting monthly bills ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹4,000!

It all started with a ₹6,000 bill, which made no sense. We paid ₹2,000 after complaining, and the officials promised to conduct an inspection. But they never showed up. Instead, the next bill came to ₹9,000! When we went to ask what’s going on, they were rude, dismissive, and threatened us with electricity disconnection if we didn’t pay. We were left with no choice but to pay ₹5,000, again after their false assurance that the amount would be adjusted later.

Guess what? Nothing was adjusted.

Now, we’ve received a ₹13,000 bill! This is outrageous. We are being harassed despite being genuine, low-usage residents. On top of that, our neighbors with more appliances are paying only ₹700 to ₹1,500 monthly.

It feels like we’re being targeted or cheated on purpose, and nobody is helping us. We are mentally exhausted, financially burdened, and completely frustrated. We demand that someone take this seriously, conduct an honest inspection, correct the billing, and stop treating us like we don’t have a voice.

This is not just a complaint—this is a cry for justice. We will not stay silent anymore.
