Dear Sir,
Please be informed that I had purchased a Motorola charger/adaptor from an authorized Motorola service center after my original charger stopped working just 1 year and 1 month after the purchase of my phone.
The new adaptor, which cost me ₹1,647, stopped working within 20 days of purchase. When I approached the same authorized service center, they clearly refused to replace or repair it, stating that no warranty is applicable — even though the product was purchased from their own official outlet and is an original Motorola accessory.
It is extremely disappointing that a branded and high-priced original accessory failed within such a short period, and the company is denying any responsibility. As per the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the seller/manufacturer is responsible for providing a replacement or repair for a defective product, especially when the defect appears within an unreasonably short period.
A consumer pays for genuine products with the trust that the company will ensure quality and service. Unfortunately, Motorola’s authorized service center has failed to honor that trust. I have already raised a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline, but no effective action has been taken so far.
I therefore request your kind intervention to:
1. Direct Motorola or its authorized service provider to replace the defective adaptor immediately; or
2. Refund the full amount of ₹1,647; and
3. Consider appropriate compensation for mental harassment and inconvenience caused.
Please find attached copies of the purchase invoice, service center details, and communication proof.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours faithfully,
Ravish Kumar
