Hi,
Executive from kotak Mahindra Bank applied a PVR INOX credit Card at Pheonix Citadel mall Indore by saying it is lifetime free credit Card. But after delivery of card they start charging annual fees, when i got to knaw that this card is chargeable, I didn't even activate that card. I also didn't generate any pin or password to activate it. And when i called customer care they said they can't help it. You have to pay the fees and they even not disclosing the executive's name or ID number.
Such fraud is happening by the bank's executive for fulfilling there targets.

I request to look into this matter. I want to close the card and request bank to waive off the charges. I don't want any product from such a bank who do false commitment.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Kotak Mahindra Bank regarding the unsolicited credit card and the associated charges. To address this issue effectively, consider the following steps:

  1. Understand Your Rights:
    • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) prohibits banks from issuing unsolicited credit cards without the explicit consent of the customer. If a bank issues a credit card without consent and charges are incurred, the bank is held liable to reverse those charges.
  2. Document All Communications:
    • Keep a detailed record of all interactions with the bank, including dates, times, and the names of representatives you've spoken with. This documentation will be crucial if the issue escalates.
  3. File a Formal Complaint with the Bank:
    • Submit a written complaint to Kotak Mahindra Bank's grievance redressal department. Clearly outline the issue, referencing the unsolicited credit card, the misrepresentation by the bank executive, and the unauthorized charges. Request a written acknowledgment of your complaint.
  4. File a Complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH):
    • You can lodge a complaint with the NCH, which offers a platform for consumers to seek redressal. Complaints can be registered online through their portal. National Consumer Helpline
