Subject: Complaint Against YatraDham for Deficiency in Service, Failure to Honour Confirmed Hotel Bookings and Non-Responsive Customer Support – Refund of ₹6,653.18
I wish to lodge a formal consumer grievance against YatraDham regarding the mishandling of my confirmed hotel bookings and the failure of its customer support to provide a proper response or resolve the issue.
I made the following bookings through YatraDham:
Booking ID 101960140 – ₹4,435.45
Booking ID 101960216 – ₹2,217.73
Total amount paid – ₹6,653.18.
The first booking was made for two rooms from 12:00 noon on 30 October 2026 until the following day. Subsequently, as I could not secure accommodation for the additional period on 31 October, I made a second booking specifically to keep our luggage until my train departure at 5:00 PM.
However, when I contacted the hotel to reconfirm the arrangements, I was informed that no rooms were available and that the accommodation would not be provided as booked, despite the booking confirmations issued by YatraDham.
I am travelling with my elderly parents and a young child. This failure has caused considerable distress and uncertainty regarding our accommodation and luggage arrangements.
What makes the matter more serious is the lack of a proper and responsible response from YatraDham's customer support. When I raised the issue, I received a generic response stating that the booking was confirmed. My actual concern regarding the hotel's refusal to provide accommodation was not properly addressed. There was no satisfactory confirmation that the matter had been verified directly with the hotel, no practical alternative was offered, and my query was closed without resolving the underlying problem.
Issuing a booking confirmation without ensuring that the accommodation will be honoured, followed by inadequate grievance handling, amounts to an alleged deficiency in service. Customers should not be left to repeatedly contact the booking platform and hotel to resolve a problem arising from their own booking arrangements.
I therefore request the consumer grievance redressal authority to intervene and facilitate the following relief:
A full refund of ₹4,435.45 for Booking ID 101960140.
A full refund of ₹2,217.73 for Booking ID 101960216.
Refund of the total amount of ₹6,653.18 without cancellation charges or deductions, as the cancellation is necessitated by the failure to ensure the promised accommodation.
Appropriate action regarding the booking platform's failure to provide a proper response and resolve the grievance despite being informed of the issue.
A written explanation and confirmation of the refund, including the expected date of credit.
I no longer have confidence in the reliability of these bookings and do not wish to receive further generic assurances that the reservations are confirmed. I require the full refund of the amount paid.
I request that this complaint be treated seriously and that appropriate steps be taken to secure redressal for the deficiency in service and the inconvenience caused to my family.
