Good morning sir/ma'am,
I am Mohd Hamza
I own a OnePlus 8 device for the past 5+ years and it was working perfectly fine never any complaint raised in the screen but recently after a software update there is one green line showing up on my screen despite no physical damage or water damage. Then I contacted costumer care and asked for advice what to do and told them that I have replaced the company's original battery and back panel aftermarket as battery exploded and back panel was broken, still after informing them beforehand they said to visit the service centre at Shalimar Logix, Hazratganj, Lucknow and told me sir your device would be repaired free of cost or you will be upgraded to OnePlus 12r by paying 10k extra or you can opt for OnePlus 12 by paying 15k extra I agreed and visited the service centre and first thing which I told them was of the aftermarket repair but still they kept on promising that sir we will upgrade you to newer model by paying 15k extra for OnePlus 12r as battery and back panel is aftermarket I was a bit disappointed as they increased the price which I was told before visiting but still agreed then when they took my phone for diagnosis purpose they left my phone on the heating pad for around an hour and went for lunch and when the diagnosis was finally started the engineer removed all the wires and components so harshly as if the phone will not be needed to put back together.
Then they told me that my device FPC panel is showing some binding issue and doesn't match my device IMEI number and when asked why did this occur they put the blame on me that I have replaced the original screen or have did any work on the screen but never in my ownership of 5+ years I have ever did any work on the screen and even while the battery replacement I never left my phone with the shop so that any other thing can be changed and even the part of motherboard where the FPC Panel is located was never opened the part covering it was still intact and had the company sticker on the screw which was for the first time opened at the service centre only so there is no chance that the screen got replaced or FPC Panel replaced as the part covering it was never opened still the company didn't resolve any of my issue neither they repaired the phone not they upgraded it or replaced my device also they damaged my fingerprint scanner and front camera and also didn't close the back panel not they informed me for the same and while leaving the service centre the back panel fell and broke then for the first time I raised a complaint in National Consumer Helpline and then a person called me claiming to be from head office of Oneplus and asked me to visit the service centre again and she will get my device replaced by checking the authenticity of the screen and components related to it I agreed but went to another service centre for the authenticity test and I had to visit that service centre twice for the test and I was informed that all my components related to the FPC Panel are original but for some reason it shows the binding issue and he told me to keep on complaining to the company as they will not fix it if you won't be punctual with complaint and while I visited that service centre he gave me a hint that the person who is claiming to be from head office is not from head office and when after the authenticity test I went to the service centre at Shalimar logix I saw the person claiming to be from head office there and she was the store manager there but remained silent as they said my phone will be repaired or replaced but they didn't do a single thing not did they restored my device to the condition in which I first gave my device to them, despite them keeping my device for 2 days at there service centre nothing was done and when I left the service centre I again contacted National Consumer Helpline for complaining of the fraud they are doing by claiming to be from head office but when I called they said that sir your complaint has been closed by the company claiming they have taken the phone in their custody.
I then told him whole thing they did by keeping the device in their custody then he told me to raise my complaint on e-Jagriti portal and when called there they told to raise the complaint here therefore I am writing everything in this mail which has happened.
Please help me out with this as this problem has made me mentally frustrated and also I have spent around 5k for just visiting service centres but still nothing is gained by this I even went to Delhi just for this problem and nothing they said that the Shalimar Logix service centre has blacklisted my IMEI and they can't perform any service on my device. I spent 3k on ticket for Delhi and returning just to know they have blacklisted my IMEI.
Even if they say that I have an aftermarket repair in my device still they are responsible for this green line issue as it started because of their software update and I did nothing wrong to suffer this much. Suppose even if I have multiple aftermarket repairs but my device was working perfectly fine before the software update then how come I be responsible for this green line issue they knowing did this so that their phone extra stock would be sold.
The first time when I visited the service centre after me 80 people came with the same green line issue and out of which 50-60 people had the same device as me then it's very clear the company intentionally did this as they increased the price for swap policy 2 months ago from 6k to 10k and they don't even have any other device to upgrade to except the OnePlus 12r and don't even have color options just blue color is available for everyone.
