Dear MSEDCL Customer Support Team,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an unexpectedly high and erroneous electricity bill issued for the billing cycle of June & July 2026.

Below are my consumer details for your immediate reference:

  • Consumer Name: Sachin Vijay Nanetkar
  • Consumer Number: 410024796136
  • Billing Unit (BU): 4680
  • Address: Gautam Nagar, Nagpur - 440014

Issue Details:

My average monthly electricity consumption typically ranges between Average Units = 200–250 units, resulting in a bill of approximately ₹Average Amount, 2,000. However, the bill generated for this month states a consumption of High Units = 450-650] units, totaling an exorbitant amount of ₹High Amount.

There has been no change in the number of electrical appliances used, nor any increase in our daily household/commercial power consumption to justify this massive spike.

Observation:

  • Suspected Faulty Meter: The meter readings on the bill match the physical meter display, but the meter appears to be jumping digits or accelerating abnormally fast, pointing to a technical defect or a faulty meter.

Request:

I kindly request you to:

  1. Hold any automated disconnection actions for this consumer number while this dispute is being verified.
  2. Send a technician to cross-check the actual meter reading or test the meter for faults.
  3. Rectify the bill based on my historical average consumption or actual readings.
I have attached a copy of the disputed bill, a copy of a previous normal bill for comparison, and a clear photograph of my electricity meter taken today showing the current reading.

Please acknowledge receipt of this email and provide a complaint ticket number at the earliest.

Yours sincerely,

Sachin Nanetkar
