Respected Sir/Madam,
I am filing this complaint against Littlebox India in relation to the company’s failure to provide an effective return and grievance-redressal service and its refusal to provide a monetary refund for my returned product.
I purchased a Halter Neck Satin Maxi Dress in Classic White, Size M, from Littlebox for ₹1,199. The order details show that the product was delivered on 9 September 2026 at 4:42 PM, with tracking number 77167595713.
The Littlebox platform provides a “RETURN / EXCHANGE” facility and represents its return policy as a “7-day easy return.” Relying on this representation, I attempted to initiate the return within the prescribed period.
However, my experience was completely contrary to the representation of an “easy return.”
1. Failure to provide timely and effective customer support
I repeatedly contacted Littlebox through WhatsApp/customer support seeking assistance with my return and refund.
When I initially requested a call, Littlebox informed me that support operates entirely through WhatsApp and chat and that there was no calling facility.
I subsequently explained that I wanted to return the dress and sought clarification regarding the refund. Despite this, I was repeatedly given generic responses and asked to wait for another support team member.
At several points, I specifically informed them that I had been trying to obtain assistance since the previous night and that there was still no resolution.
The screenshots of the conversation clearly show that I repeatedly requested immediate assistance and even stated that I would have to pursue legal remedies if my concern was not properly addressed.
Despite this, Littlebox continued to state that someone from its support team would respond “soon”, without providing a definite resolution.
2. The “7-day easy return” representation was misleading in my experience
During the conversation, I specifically questioned Littlebox about how the process could be described as an “easy return” when the customer has to repeatedly contact support, wait for responses, and chase the company for assistance.
Littlebox itself acknowledged my concern and stated that it would share my feedback with its team to make the process clearer.
The company repeatedly described the process as easy because a return request could be raised through an online portal. However, this does not address the actual grievance I raised — namely, the lack of proper assistance and the lack of transparent communication regarding the financial consequences of the return.
3. ₹99 reverse logistics charge
Littlebox informed me that a ₹99 handling/reverse-logistics fee would apply to the return.
When I questioned why I was required to pay ₹99, Littlebox stated that this was its standard reverse-logistics charge and that it applied to standard returns and exchanges.
I submit that such charges should be clearly and prominently disclosed to consumers before they make the purchase and/or before they initiate the return, rather than being presented in a manner that makes the advertised “7-day easy return” appear substantially simpler than the actual process.
4. Store-credit refund instead of monetary refund
The most significant issue is the treatment of my refund.
When I requested my refund in my bank account, Littlebox informed me that refunds for delivered orders could only be issued as a Littlebox Credit Voucher, which would remain valid for one year and could be used only on its website/app.
I expressly informed Littlebox that I do not want store credit and want my money refunded to my account.
Despite clearly communicating this, the company continued to insist upon store credit.
I respectfully submit that I should not be compelled to make another purchase from the same company merely to utilise money that I have already paid for a previous transaction. I therefore request the Hon’ble Commission to examine whether the manner in which this refund restriction was disclosed and enforced amounts to an unfair trade practice and/or deficiency in service, particularly in light of the manner in which the return was represented to consumers.
5. Repeated assurances without resolution
The screenshots further demonstrate that Littlebox repeatedly told me:
This resulted in unnecessary expenditure of my time, repeated follow-ups, frustration and mental agony.
Grounds of Complaint
I respectfully submit that the conduct of the Opposite Party warrants examination on the following grounds:
I respectfully request the Hon’ble Commission to:

5. Repeated assurances without resolution
The screenshots further demonstrate that Littlebox repeatedly told me:
- that my concern had been forwarded to the support team;
- that someone would respond “very soon”;
- that the team already had all my details;
- and that I should continue waiting.
This resulted in unnecessary expenditure of my time, repeated follow-ups, frustration and mental agony.
Grounds of Complaint
I respectfully submit that the conduct of the Opposite Party warrants examination on the following grounds:
- Deficiency in service due to failure to provide timely and effective customer support and grievance redressal.
- Failure to provide an effective return experience despite representing the facility as a “7-day easy return.”
- Inadequate/unclear disclosure of return-related charges and refund conditions, particularly the ₹99 reverse-logistics charge and store-credit-only refund condition, if these were not sufficiently disclosed to me before purchase.
- Unfair trade practice, to the extent that the representations made regarding the return facility were materially different from the actual experience and/or the material restrictions were not adequately disclosed to me.
- Unreasonable withholding/restriction of my money by limiting the refund to store credit, thereby requiring me to make another purchase from the same platform to utilise the amount.
- Mental agony, inconvenience and loss of time caused by repeated unsuccessful attempts to obtain assistance and a proper resolution.
I respectfully request the Hon’ble Commission to:
- Direct Littlebox to refund the amount of ₹1,199 paid by me through the original mode of payment, rather than forcing me to accept store credit, subject to the Commission’s determination of the applicable refund entitlement.
- Direct the Opposite Party to refund/reimburse any unjustified return or handling charges, if found applicable.
- Award appropriate compensation for mental agony, harassment, inconvenience and loss of time suffered by me.
- Award the costs incurred in pursuing this complaint.
- Examine the Opposite Party’s representation of its return facility as a “7-day easy return” and whether its actual return/refund process and disclosures constitute deficiency in service or unfair trade practice.
- Pass any other order or relief that the Hon’ble Commission considers appropriate in the circumstances.
I am enclosing the following evidence in support of my complaint:
