Dear Sir/Madam,

I wish to lodge a formal complaint against Shine.com for misrepresentation, unfair trade practices, and deficiency in service.

Details of the Opposite Party:

On [Date of Payment], I was contacted by a representative from Shine.com who offered me a paid career service package worth ₹3,292. I was informed that this package included resume marketing, forwarding my resume to relevant employers, job assistance, and complete support in helping me secure suitable job opportunities. Based on these representations, I made the payment of ₹3,292.

After the payment, I was assigned a Relationship Manager, Mr. Virendra, who discussed my job requirements. However, instead of initiating the promised services, I was informed that I would have to make another payment of ₹5,192 to proceed further. I was explicitly told that unless I paid this additional amount, no services could be provided.

At no stage before the initial payment was I informed that additional mandatory payments would be required to receive the services already promised under the package. Had this information been disclosed beforehand, I would never have agreed to purchase the service.

When I objected to this unexpected demand and pointed out that the package had been sold as a complete solution, the representatives started arguing instead of resolving my concern. I also contacted the executive (Nikhil) who had originally sold me the package, but I was told that there was "nothing he could do."

I believe I have been induced to purchase the service through misleading representations and incomplete disclosure of material facts. This amounts to an unfair trade practice and deficiency in service, causing me financial loss as well as mental harassment.

I respectfully request the Hon'ble Consumer Commission to:

  1. Direct Shine.com to refund the full amount of ₹3,292.
  2. Direct the company to cease such misleading sales practices and ensure transparent disclosure of all charges before collecting any payment from consumers.
  3. Award appropriate compensation for the mental harassment, inconvenience, and loss of time caused due to these unfair practices.
  4. Grant any other relief deemed appropriate in the interest of justice.
I am prepared to submit payment receipts, email communications, call records, and any other supporting documents as evidence.

I request your kind intervention in this matter and appropriate action against the company.
