Complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019​


Subject: Complaint for Deficiency in Service and Unfair Trade Practice


Respected Sir/Madam,


I, Lakshmi Narayana Aditya, respectfully submit this complaint against Reliance Digital for deficiency in service and failure to honour the extended warranty purchased along with my robotic vacuum cleaner.


Facts of the Case​


  1. I purchased a robotic vacuum cleaner from Reliance Digital, as evidenced by the enclosed invoice. Along with the product, I also purchased an Extended Warranty Plan for additional protection and after-sales service.
  2. During the validity of the extended warranty, the product developed defects and became unusable. Accordingly, I approached Reliance Digital and requested service under the extended warranty.
  3. Despite repeated follow-ups over the last two months, including several emails, phone calls, and reminders, Reliance Digital has failed to arrange for repair or replacement of the product.
  4. The email correspondence enclosed with this complaint clearly demonstrates my continuous efforts to obtain service. However, the opposite party has either failed to respond or has provided vague assurances without taking any concrete action.
  5. The prolonged delay has caused significant inconvenience, mental harassment, loss of time, and denial of the benefits of the extended warranty for which I paid additional consideration.
  6. The conduct of Reliance Digital amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, as they have failed to provide the services promised under the extended warranty despite repeated requests.

Cause of Action​


The cause of action first arose when the product developed defects and Reliance Digital failed to provide service under the extended warranty. The cause of action continues as the opposite party has still not resolved the issue despite repeated follow-ups over the past two months.


Reliefs Sought​


The Complainant respectfully prays that this Hon'ble Commission may be pleased to:


  1. Direct Reliance Digital to immediately repair or replace the robotic vacuum cleaner with a new defect-free unit at no additional cost.
  2. Direct Reliance Digital to honour the terms of the extended warranty without further delay.
  3. Award suitable compensation for mental agony, inconvenience, and harassment caused due to the inaction of the opposite party.
  4. Award the litigation costs incurred by the complainant.
