I have booked a one night stay in Vellore at Hotel Essence, Vellore on 14th July 2026, When I checked in , there was no attender service as well as my room latch was broken. As a result, there was an issue with opening and closing the latch from inside as well as outside. I went twice to check with the reception guy, who was the only guy available at that time; there was no attendant, and he could not open the door as well. So I asked him to give me an alternate room and he said all rooms have been booked So i said , I will cancel the booking and moved to a nearby hotel. He asked me to initiate the cancellation request from MakeMyTrip. I called MakeMyTrip, and they took the cancellation request and asked me to wait for a day to get a response from the hotel. They have sent me a mail stating the hotel guys have not accpted the refund, this was a big lie as I have spoken to the authorities in the hotel next day and they said they will agree to the cancellation refund. I have screenshots from Abhay, who is the manager of operations there at Hotel Essecnce, who has agreed to refund the money. Makemytrip sent me an email today stating the hotel denied the refund .
This is fraud and total cheating from makemytip, I want to raise a serious issue with Make mytrip regarding the refund.
