Complaint Overview:
Company Name: JioMart (Reliance Retail Limited)
Order ID: JM69F31DB30110FA6418
Voucher Amount: ₹1,000
Amount Used: ₹216.01
Loss Amount (Balance Forfeited): ₹783.99
Service Request Nos: 777541895580, 777541034504
Description of the Issue:
I am writing to highlight a deceptive and unfair trade practice by JioMart. On April 30, 2026, I applied a legally purchased ₹1,000 gift card (Card No: 10082001488661...) to an order worth ₹216.01. Immediately after the transaction, the remaining balance of ₹783.99 disappeared.
Unlike reputable platforms like Amazon or Paytm, where the balance remains for future use, JioMart has effectively "swallowed" my hard-earned money without any clear or prominent warning during the checkout process that the voucher was "single-use."
Failure of Grievance Redressal:
I raised two internal tickets (777541895580 and 777541034504). JioMart support closed both as "Resolved" without actually returning my funds or even providing a logical explanation. This is a clear case of "Dark Patterns" and cheating innocent customers of their funds.
Constitutional & Legal Violations:
As a finance professional, I find this a gross violation of:
Article 300A of the Constitution of India: Depriving a person of their property (money) without the authority of law.
Article 14: Arbitrary and unfair conduct by a major market player.
Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020: Unfair trade practices.
Evidence Attached:
(Make sure to upload your 4 screenshots: the ₹1,000 card, the ₹216 order, the HDFC/CRED payment proof, and the "Resolved" status of your tickets).
Relief Sought:
I demand the immediate restoration of my ₹783.99 to my wallet or a new voucher for the same amount. I have already marked copies of my complaint to the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) and the JioMart Nodal/Grievance Officers.
