Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing this complaint to seek justice against IT-Preneur Nagpur for misleading representations, unfair trade practices, and refusal to refund my hard-earned money despite not availing any service from them.
I approached IT-Preneur Nagpur specifically for their placement service, as I already possess prior corporate experience and had no requirement for their training program. During the counseling and admission process, their representatives verbally assured me that they would provide direct placement opportunities within one week and that I would secure a high-paying job through their network.
Based on these assurances, I paid ₹10,000, which they described as a registration fee for initiating the placement process. However, after receiving the payment, they changed their position and informed me that due to the absence of a Provident Fund (PF) account from my previous employer, my placement process would be delayed by at least 45 days.
This condition was never disclosed before payment. Feeling misled, I immediately informed them that I did not wish to proceed further with either their placement service or any training program, and I requested a refund of my ₹10,000.
Since I am not availing either of their products/services—training or placement—I see no justification for them to retain my money. However, they have refused to refund the amount and are now citing their internal rules and regulations, which state that fees paid are for training only and are non-refundable.
The issue is that these written rules relate solely to training services and do not address my case of direct placement, which was the purpose for which I approached them. Moreover, before taking the payment, they had verbally assured me that if I chose not to continue with training or placement, the ₹10,000 would be refunded.
It appears that they intentionally used false promises to secure the payment and later shifted their stance after collecting the money. This amounts to deception and unfair business conduct.
Additionally, after I posted a Google review regarding my experience, the Nagpur office HOD responded arrogantly and stated that I could “go to the police and do whatever I wanted,” but they would not return my money. Such behavior demonstrates complete disregard for consumer rights and accountability.
I respectfully request the Hon’ble Consumer Court to:
