Subject: Complaint against Groww for deficiency in service due to their app crash causing financial loss

Respected Sir/Madam,

I, Brahmaiah Othuru, residing at Proddatur, hereby file this complaint against Groww, an online trading platform, for deficiency in service and negligence under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 2019.

On 27th April 2026 and 28th April 2026, while trading through the Groww application, I experienced a severe technical glitch wherein the app repeatedly crashed and failed to function properly. Due to this issue, I was unable to exit my trading position, despite multiple attempts during market hours.

This failure on the platform’s part directly resulted in a financial loss of approximately ₹71,579, as I could not square off my position at the desired time. The inability to act in a time-sensitive trading environment clearly indicates a serious lapse in service reliability and system stability.

I attempted to contact the company’s customer support through their app on the same dates; however, the issue was neither resolved in a timely manner nor was any adequate explanation or compensation provided.

The actions (and inaction) of Groww amount to:

Deficiency in service
Negligence in maintaining a reliable trading platform
Causing financial loss and mental distress

In light of the above, I respectfully request this Honorable Commission to:

Direct the opposite party to compensate my financial loss of ₹[Amount]
Award additional compensation for mental agony and inconvenience caused
Direct the company to improve its technical infrastructure to prevent recurrence
Grant any other relief deemed fit in the interest of justice

I request this Honorable Commission to take appropriate action and provide justice at the earliest.
