Complaint Details:

I wish to file a complaint against Flipkart regarding the delivery of a tampered and suspicious product and the subsequent denial of support and refund despite repeated complaints.

I ordered Castrol Engine Oil (3.5 litre) from Flipkart, which was delivered on 21st May 2026. Since engine oil is used only during vehicle servicing, the product remained unopened until 25th May 2026, when I visited a mechanic/service center for my car service.

At the time of opening the product, the mechanic found that:

The seal of the engine oil can was already broken.

Approximately 500 ml of engine oil was missing from the container.

The condition of the product appeared suspicious and unsafe.

Due to the risk of engine damage from potentially contaminated or counterfeit oil, the mechanic refused to use the product. As a result, I was forced to purchase a new engine oil can separately from the mechanic, causing financial loss, inconvenience, and mental harassment.

Immediately after discovering the issue, I contacted Flipkart customer support through both chat and phone calls. Despite explaining the seriousness of the matter multiple times and making 3–4 follow-ups, Flipkart initially delayed the process and later accepted the return request. However, to my shock and disappointment, the return/refund request was later rejected without proper investigation or justification.

This conduct amounts to:

Delivery of a defective/tampered product

Deficiency in service

Unfair trade practice

Failure to protect consumer rights

I am also a Flipkart Black member and a regular customer, yet no proper support or resolution has been provided.

The seller has effectively committed fraud by supplying a used/tampered engine oil product, and Flipkart has failed to take responsibility despite being the platform facilitating the sale.

Relief Sought:

I request the Hon’ble Consumer Authority to direct Flipkart to:

Provide a full refund for the product.

Compensate me for the additional amount spent on purchasing replacement engine oil.

Provide compensation for mental harassment, inconvenience, and waste of time.

Take strict action against the seller involved in fraudulent practices.

Ensure proper quality checks and consumer protection mechanisms on their platform.

I am attaching order details, screenshots of complaint communications, and product photographs (if available) as supporting evidence.

I request prompt action and justice in this matter.
