Complaint Description:

I purchased a used Mahindra Thar from Cars24 through their online platform in 2021. I was assured that the vehicle had passed all checks, was legally verified, and ready for transfer. I am the second registered owner as per the RC which was handled by cars 24 itself.

Recently, when I attempted to resell the vehicle, I was informed by an authorized dealership and the UP Government RTO that the chassis number had been reprinted, which is considered tampering. As a result, the resale transaction was declined, and I am being falsely implicated in possible illegal activity despite having no knowledge of the issue.
Upon raising this issue, Cars24 later informed me over email that the previous owner had the chassis reprinted at a Mahindra dealership. This fact was never disclosed at the time of sale.


If this detail was known to Cars24, it should have been disclosed clearly to the buyer. If not known, it reflects a lack of proper verification by their inspection team. Either way, it amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.

Cars24 has clearly failed to:

  • Conduct proper verification of the vehicle's authenticity.
  • Disclose crucial information at the time of sale.
  • Provide post-sale support or resolution.
This has caused me severe mental stress, reputational harm, and financial loss, and I demand immediate action.

Relief Sought:

  • Full refund of the vehicle’s purchase price: ₹773000
  • Compensation for damages and harassment: ₹100000
  • Written clarification absolving me of wrongdoing in front of the RTO

Kindly treat this as an urgent grievance. I reserve the right to escalate this to legal and consumer court proceedings if not resolved within 15 days.
 
I am sold my car breeza to car24 on date 26.08.2024 it's been a year nearly my RC transfer has not been taken place when they purchased my car they told me it will hardly take 3 months for ownership tranfer but now they are not answering any call also they blocked my number, answering scripted mail.
Do not believe this company they are totally fraud .
RC transfer not done nearly 1 year .
