I purchased a used Mahindra Thar from Cars24 through their online platform in 2021. I was assured that the vehicle had passed all checks, was legally verified, and ready for transfer. I am the second registered owner as per the RC which was handled by cars 24 itself.
Recently, when I attempted to resell the vehicle, I was informed by an authorized dealership and the UP Government RTO that the chassis number had been reprinted, which is considered tampering. As a result, the resale transaction was declined, and I am being falsely implicated in possible illegal activity despite having no knowledge of the issue.
If this detail was known to Cars24, it should have been disclosed clearly to the buyer. If not known, it reflects a lack of proper verification by their inspection team. Either way, it amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.

- Disclose crucial information at the time of sale.
- Provide post-sale support or resolution.

- Full refund of the vehicle’s purchase price: ₹773000
- Compensation for damages and harassment: ₹100000
- Written clarification absolving me of wrongdoing in front of the RTO
