I’m writing this post to highlight the irresponsible handling and poor customer service I’ve experienced with Air India regarding my recent journey from Varanasi → Delhi → Dehradun (Flight No: AI 2438, PNR: E198GI).
At the Varanasi Airport, despite being on time of boarding, I was informed that boarding had started and my check-in bag could not be accepted. I was told to pay ₹4000 to send it separately since it exceeded cabin size limits — and I complied.
However, when I arrived at Dehradun, my bag never reached. I reported it immediately, but Air India staff couldn’t trace it. After several follow-ups and day of stress, I was finally told that my bag had been located — but now, they are asking me to come to the airport to collect it myself.
This is completely unacceptable.
I am now preparing to raise this matter with the Consumer Court and relevant authorities, including the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
I sincerely hope @Air India, @DGCA India, and @Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India take note of how such situations are handled, so that no other passenger has to face the same frustration.

- The loss occurred due to Air India’s mishandling, not mine.
- I already paid ₹4000 for a bag they failed to deliver.
- Now I’m being inconvenienced again by being asked to travel back to the airport to fix their mistake.
