Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your notice an issue regarding a failed ATM transaction from my account with HDFC Bank.
On 6nd March 2026, I attempted to withdraw ₹10,000 from a Hitachi ATM. However, the cash was not dispensed, while the amount was debited from my account.
Details of the transaction are as follows:
• Date: 6 March 2026
timing 10:49 pm evening
• Amount: ₹10,000
• ATM: Hitachi ATM
• Transaction type: Cash withdrawal (failed)
It has been more than the prescribed time limit, and I have not yet received the refund.
As per guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India, the amount should be credited back within 5 working days, failing which the bank is liable to pay compensation of ₹100 per day for the delay.
I request you to kindly:
1. Investigate the matter urgently
2. Credit the debited amount of ₹10,000 to my account immediately
3. Provide applicable compensation for the delay as per RBI norms
