Bank of Baroda negligence caused wrongful credit of ₹15,500 to another account despite showing my name on UPI

I am filing this complaint against Bank of Baroda for gross negligence and deficiency in service that resulted in financial loss to me.

I opened my Bank of Baroda account in 2023 and registered my mobile number with the bank. Due to an error in the bank's records or UPI mapping system, my mobile number was incorrectly linked in such a way that payments intended for me were credited to another person's account.

My father transferred ₹10,500 to me and my friend transferred ₹5,000 to me through PhonePe. Before making both transactions, PhonePe displayed my correct name to the senders, confirming that they were sending money to me. However, after the transactions were completed, the money was credited to another person's account instead of mine.

This incident clearly points towards a serious failure in the bank's account mapping or mobile number linkage process, which was entirely under the control of Bank of Baroda and not within my control or responsibility.

Since 2023, I have made multiple complaints and visited various Bank of Baroda branches, including branches in Mathura and Shahjahanpur, seeking resolution of this issue. I also contacted the sender's bank and provided all required information and evidence. Despite repeated follow-ups over several years, the bank has failed to recover my money or provide a satisfactory explanation.

I possess transaction details, UPI transaction IDs, complaint records, and screenshots showing that my name was displayed before the payments were made. These records establish that the funds were intended for me and that the loss occurred due to failures in the banking system.

After exhausting all available channels for resolution, I am now pursuing legal remedies and requesting immediate intervention, investigation, and recovery of the wrongly credited amount of ₹15,500 along with appropriate compensation for the financial loss, inconvenience, and mental harassment caused due to the bank's negligence.

I request urgent action and a fair resolution of this matter.
