My father, Shrikant Zute, is a Zomato gig worker. He met with an accident on 6th May, resulting in a temporary disability. We submitted the claim on 19th May. For almost three months, the matter was delayed over email without any concrete progress. Finally, I raised a complaint on X (Twitter), after which our claim was taken seriously and moved forward.

Subsequently, we received a bed rest certificate from the hospital. However, the hospital authorities had made certain alterations to it, which we were unaware of at the time. We submitted the certificate as it was via email. Later, our claim was rejected on the grounds that the document had been altered (“tampered with”) to obtain the claim. We would like to clarify that we had no involvement in, nor knowledge of, any such changes made to the document.
