I purchased a laptop from Flipkart on 5 November 2025. In February 2026, I started facing issues with the camera of the laptop. In order to repair the product, I visited an authorized service center of HP on 22 February 2026.
To my shock, the service center informed me that the product warranty had already expired, which means the warranty had been activated before the date of my purchase. This clearly indicates that the product sold to me had a pre-activated warranty, which is unfair and misleading to customers.
As a common consumer, I trusted Flipkart as a reputed e-commerce platform and did not manually check the warranty activation date at the time of purchase. Most customers rely on the platform’s authenticity and assume that the warranty will begin from the date of purchase.
After discovering this issue, I contacted Flipkart customer support. However, instead of taking responsibility for selling a pre-activated warranty product, I was asked to approach HP directly. Unfortunately, this matter has not been treated seriously, leaving me without any proper resolution.
I strongly believe that selling a product with an already activated warranty is unfair trade practice and a violation of consumer rights. Therefore, I request Flipkart to take immediate action and provide a fair resolution, either by:
Providing a replacement product, or
Issuing an appropriate refund/compensation.
I trusted Flipkart while making this purchase, and I expect the company to take responsibility and ensure justice for its customers.
I request a prompt investigation and resolution of this matter at the earliest.
