Subject ; Appeal to get refund against Supply of defective Laptop worth Rs 74900/- from ‘Unboxify’.
A. I hereby seek your kind help to get back Rs 74900/- back paid to ‘UnBoxify’ (Founder; Mr. Tanishq Aggarwal) against supply of (defective, Non starting non getting charged) Laptop ;Apple make MacBook with M4 chip (as described on ordering page).
• I shall return the defective supply against the the refund.
B. How I got trapped:
• On searching for a deal on google,
• the offer from Unboxify flashed among Amazon , flipkart, Imagine etc. appearing to be a fresh laptop. (No where written in offer specifications that it will be as unboxed)
• After ordering with full payment (COD was not an option), after some time, out of curiosity while going through the website, found the assurance of 8 step quality checks assuring good quality supply.
• In hidden bottom portion there was mention that it would be an unboxed not refurbished, working piece.
• As expected till this point to have a genuine fresh apple Macbook, Tried to cancel the order, although it was asking for 5% cancellation charges , roughly Rs. 3750/-, but got the message that cancellation window of 2 hours is over.
• With a hope , as Unboxify had claimed in policy that It is highly unlikely that their supplies are defective, showing thousands of other products and only One Macbook M4, I waited for the laptop delivery. Can Highly unlikely mean 100% failure as in this case.
C. Ordeal after the Laptop Delivery (by Bluedart, had to takedelivery from Bluedart warehouse in Yamunanagar after they didn't deliver for 3 days, may be part of Unboxifys' business model)
• The Laptop parcel was received on 14/01/26 (evening).
• On opening the laptop it did not start. (Apple make laptops-Macbook start with lifting of screen.) I tried to start even with power button but failed.
• I tried to charge it but after several trials and after wait for about an hour, found that it is not getting charged even.
• Tried to find a 'Unboxify' customer care phone contact to call them about the defective Laptop ‘Macbook with M4 chip’.
• The phone contact was nowhere to find on 'Unboxify' website and only option was Whatsapp chat.
Please note that on website only one Laptop , apple Macbook M4 chip, was appearing. above explanation is proving that 8 step quality check was not performed by 'Unboxify" team hence breach of promise.
D. Responses to the Whatsapp Chat (the only option provided after the ordering)
• In reply of my message on 15/01/26 night, about the defective Laptop of Rs.74900/- on whatsapp, got autoreply that whatsapp chat works between 10a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Against my message on 15/01/26, reply was to visit nearest authorized Apple service center.
• On request to have a call got another reply message that ‘Unboxify’ doesn’t have calling option.
• Through chat they persistently asked to go to authorized service centre , nearest one in Kurukshetra, I asked for travel and leave compensation expenses (Rs 7000/- per trip)
• They asked to file return request and later on rejected it.
• Unboxify is indicating of replacement only and not refund siting the company policy and the specifications / condition / availability is not clear.
• After informing that I had submitted a complain on https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/ they provided an email ID pport@unboxify.freshdesk.com> for raising compliant tickets. Two tickets 2417883544 and 2417883549 are raised but as on 23/01/26 none is appearing in my login page.
'Unboxify' Team has not performed 8 step quality check as promised, that's why Apple laptop neither starting nor getting charged and started in worse case. This appears to be a deliberate defective supply indicating the breach of promise. Now they are harassing by providing standard replies and ineffective support communication.
E. As 'Unboxify' breached the promise by supplying defective Laptop , despite full upfront payment of Rs. 74900/- by me,
• The subsequent harassment by 'Unboxify by asking me to get it repaired at service centre is unjustified.
'Unboxify' may be directed to take back the defective High Value Laptop, Refund the hard earned money Rs. 74,900/-.
Appropriate harassment charges due to mental agony and time lost + Interest on delayed refund 16/01/26 onwards , as adjudjed appropriate, may be directed by honorable Authority.
