Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an unauthorized EMI conversion on my Axis Bank credit card transaction. Please find the details below:
On 24th October 2025, I purchased a smartphone through the Flipkart application for a total amount of ₹63,847/-.
I selected Credit Card as the payment option.
As per the Flipkart Diwali Sale offer, I received a 5% cashback of ₹3,192/-, which was successfully applied and displayed in the Flipkart orders page.
The smartphone was delivered to me on 28th October 2025.
However, when my Axis Bank credit card statement was generated on 13th November 2025, I noticed that this transaction of ₹63,847/- had been converted into 36 EMIs of ₹2,308.23/- each, dated 28th October 2025.
I would like to highlight the following points:
- I did not initiate any EMI conversion request.
- There was no login from my side into the Axis Bank mobile application or internet banking on 28th October 2025.
- I did not share or submit any OTP on that day.
After discovering this issue, I contacted Axis Bank customer care (1800 209 5577) more than 10 times after 13th November 2025 and also communicated the matter via email (ajayborate11@gmail.com). The case was escalated to Mr. Ayush Shukla from the Axis Bank Credit Card Support team for over two days. Despite my repeated clarifications, I was informed that the EMI conversion was done from the customer’s end, which is incorrect.
To verify further, I contacted Flipkart and requested payment details for this transaction. Flipkart confirmed that no EMI option was selected by the customer for this transaction (Reference ID: PZT25102420282D7IV01).
I have proof of communication and credit card statements clearly showing that the 5% cashback earned on 24th October 2025 was reversed by the bank on 28th October 2025.
Due to this unauthorized EMI conversion:
- I lost the cashback amount of ₹3,192/-.
- I had to pay an additional ₹7,000/- to force close the transaction.
- My total financial loss amounts to approximately ₹10,000/-.
- I also faced 15 days of frustration in arranging this amount and making payment before the due date of 2nd December 2025.
I request Consumer court to help me:
- Investigate the root cause of this unauthorized EMI conversion.
- Clarify who initiated the EMI conversion if not from my end.
- Refund the lost cashback and additional charges incurred due to this issue.
- To get Compensation amount for 15 days of frustration in arranging this amount and making payment before the due date of 2nd December 2025 and force closing the card disturbing my financial condition.
I expect a prompt resolution to this matter and a written confirmation of corrective action taken.
Thank you for your attention.
